The people at this hostel make it what it is! The helpful staff and positive environment made us feel like it was home every time we came back from other parts of the state. Awesome location makes everything downtown accessible, great kitchen, clean hostel, and lots of great people to meet. The opportunity to paint on the walls makes it a memorable experience too! I have stayed at better hostels, but this one served it's purpose. My private room was decent, and I felt safe there. The bathroom was typical "hostel" quality, and there is a large "commons" area in the basement with good kitchen and comfortable seating area. The staff was helpful, but if you want a towel, you have to ask for one. The most negative part of my 3 day stay was the location, it's essentially on the "edge" of Anchorage and a bit of a walk to downtown. I would stay there again.

Though there is not much in Anchorage, compared to all that you have in other part of Alaska. Still This hostel is cool place. Its clean and economical, compared to other options in and around Anchorage.

Yeah the place is really clean! the bathrooms and showers were in excellent condition. 2 bedroom bunk is kind of small but did not come to AK to sit in room so it suffice. They had a lot of seating in the open commons area which was great and it had a homey feel. Also had good size lockers in the room! I would definitely stay here again as the price is good too!
