“A High Quality Hotel”

Le Moulon de Chalons is a lovely, high quality hotel overlooking the river (with terrace to sit on), with comfortable and quiet rooms and beds. The lunch & dinner meals are excellent, though breakfast is basic and rather expensive (€13). The hotel and meals are quite expensive, but you get what you pay for. The staff are very helpful and one lady speaks fluent English. The free car park is next to the hotel and free Wifi is available everywhere. For site-seeing, the route we were recommended and took was lovely: Marennes, La Tremblade, round the coast to La Palmyre (via the lighthouse), St Palais sur Mer, Royan, St George de Didonne, and Talmont.
