“Authentic Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011 via mobile

We flew into Seattle and our friends picked us up with the plan to go to another restaurant. Plans were changed to this restaurant. We had never been there before. We sat down and our server came over and introduced himself as Dylan. Gave us a great description of the specials and skid me on the Calzone(Maggio) featured. First apppetizers. Our friends ordered for us. Bruchetta and a meat and cheese plate with fresh mozzarella. We ordered 3 pizzas,Tutta Bella, Ciro and one with no meat. Tiramisu and gelatin for dessert with capacino. All I can say is Fantastic. I will go back.

“Popular Restaurant Needs to Watch Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

Our work group of about 12 went to the Tutta Bella Westlake for an after hours happy hour social. The food as is always the case for Tutta Bella was best quality Neapolitan style pizza. Prices are reasonable. Ambience is pretty good. We were disappointed with the service which was prefunctory and not very attentive. This is not characteristic of Tutta Bella restaurants elsewhere in the Seattle area. Our theory is that Westlake is located in the red hot South Lake Union area with a very large, young, and hip customer base so maybe they feel that attentive service is not a high priority. Although we will continue to patronize Tutta Bella, we'll probably try out another place for our office foray.

“Magnifico!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

My friend and I were visiting Seattle for a birthday weekend of shopping and dining out, and Tutta Bella happened to be next door to our hotel, so we immediately scoped it out and decided to have our first meal of the weekend there. Once our server learned that this was our first visit to the restaurant, he suggested we split a pizza and salad and order our pizza 1/2 one way, and 1/2 the other way. I'm hopeless when it comes to recalling the names of dishes, so I cannot provide that info, but I can tell you we ended up ordering a wonderful salad that featured shaved fennel, and our pizza had a combination of chicken sausage, hot Calabrian peppers, basil, mozzarella, neapolitan meatballs, pomodoro, and ricotta cheese. Heaven, heaven, heaven! The crust was light, crisp, and delicately but fully flavored, and the toppings were on the sparse side but of wonderful quality, which rendered the pizza completely satisfying without being gut-busting. Of course we made room for dessert (panna cotta gelato, which was delicious) but then our server surprised us with a Happy Birthday dish of tiramisu, as well. The tiramisu they serve is impeccable - light as a cloud, intensely flavored, and enough for at least two people to happily share. My friend and had a wonderful meal that night, and we hope to return for another meal, soon. (By the way, our server was a doll -- attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely friendly. He took pains to see that we truly enjoyed our meal.) Don't miss out on this magnificent place!

“Wonderful Pizza - excellent salad too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Our whole family loves the pizza here, including my 'picky eater' daughter who loves the Bambini pizza (plain cheese). I always get the beet salad and it is scrumptious.

“Close and a cigar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

To make amazing pizza is no easy task. There is an expression that pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad, it's good. We'll Tutta Bella is never bad. In fact, it's as close as one is going to get in the Pacific Northwest to Italian pizza. As one who lived in Italy for four years and has had some pizza that would qualify as religious experiences, Tutta Bella is not going to win any converts who have tasted the holy grail. However, those who have NEVER tasted authentic Napoi style pizza made with care in a wood fired oven should jump for joy relatively at Tutta Bella's fare. Instead of being made by Italians who know the craft, Tutta Bella's pizza is mostly crafted by Mexicans who get paid to simulate something beyond their culinary grasp. Sometimes the pizza comes out slightly burnt and the wait staff doesn't know the horror of actually serving this to the public. However, they are always keen on taking it back and trying again. Obviously, the owners have studied the craft and hopefully with more experience they will find some pizza makers who can actually make a quality pizza consistently. In Seattle, you could do worse, far worse. But, with Primo, Phoenica and others making quality pies, Tutta Bella should up their game if they wish to stay in it.
