I have been staying at the Watertown when in Seattle on business for the last 3 years. I loved all the special perks that made a business stay turn into a pleasurable experience. The last time I stayed at the Watertown was over Christmas on a personal vacation and I was very disappointed by several things. It has been sold to the Pineapple company (or, some such name) and there is no complimentary breakfast, there are cheesy pineapple cupcakes in the lobby, there are no longer Aveda products, or good coffee in the rooms. The perks are that it is in a great location, there is free parking, internet, and the service is very good.

There is nothing wrong with the Watertown now but it is not as special as it used to be. Too bad.

Would stay here again. Needed a place to stay near UW, this place is across the street! It was big, spacious, came with coffee maker, microwave, mini refrigerator, and FREE PARKING! Can't beat the price and location. Very close to cheap eats near the university.

I still like the Watertown for location and basic comfort but it's slipping in quality on some little things. They used to offer a continental breakfast bar. No longer. Now you have to pay for pre-fabricated sweet rolls and coffee. I walk down the block to the Portage Bay Cafe for breakfast instead. They also changed the soaps and shampoos in the rooms. Now it's liquid soaps in dispensers and they are not good quality. They have a "chemical" smell to them that clings to you all day. The in room coffee changed to those machines that take a capsule and make one cup at a time. Last two stays there my coffee machines didn't work and had to be replaced. And the coffee isn't very good either. But I still get a good night's sleep and there's on sight parking.

Rooms were very spacious and had nice amenities in the restrooms. Great location for business at or around the University.
