My partner & I signed up for the Tieton River Day Trip. It was the beginning of the run, with the damn being let out, but not at full force. We wanted a milder trip for our first time. We lucked out with a sunny day! Given the cold water we felt lucky to have sunshine drying us out between the many splashes. They gave great information on what to bring, we were given wet suits to change into, and a comprehensive lesson, with time to practice. Our boat had two guides, one in training, and we had a blast. It was a lively group with lots of screams and action. The guides told many horror stories of rafts tipping over and branches knocking people out of the rafts. Part of the fear factor to make it more exciting I suppose. The main guide also pointed out the scenery, birds, trees and other nature along the way. Back at camp they made us a dinner of steak and corn. After such invigoration it was great to eat a meal and talk with some of our raft mates. Two rafts were launched on our day so we had some bumper car splash battles along the river as well. Fun!!!
