We have just spent a long weekend in Provins and we stayed at the Hostellerie Aux Vieux Remparts. It is not an inexpensive hotel and we expected more. The pillows were not feather and were uncomfortable. The bed, two singles pushed together to make a double, was equally uncomfortable. There was a blanket on the bed and not a duvet. The restaurant, which charges similar prices to a restaurant with Michelin stars, will never gain a Michelin star and is just not worth the money. 16 euros for a continental breakfast is, frankly, highway robbery.
I do not wish to give the wrong impression, the staff were courteous and friendly and it is not a bad hotel. If it were a schoolboy, I would mark it's report card, "Must try much harder".
