My company has an excellent negotiated rate with this hotel so as far as value for money goes it is excellent. They are also very good at honouring the complimentary room upgrade for Platinum members.
The rooms are clean but not sparkling, and many of the corridor walls and carpets are oddly marked/stained. Fortunately though the rooms themselves aren't.
Room service is very fast, in fact be wary as on several occasions I have been told that my food will be 20 minutes only to have to dash out of the shower 10 minutes later because they are knocking on the door!
The restaurant is nice but very expensive. Breakfast is fairly standard Holiday Inn, just choose your time to eat wisely or else be willing to get involved in the scrum with the Japanese tourists! In fact whilst big the restaurant can get very crowded at peak breakfast time.
The major drawback to this hotel is its location. A ten to fifteen minute stroll to the nearest RER/Metro station through what is not one of the nicest or safest feeling areas, especially in darkness.
Getting taxis from the hotel can be problematic on the main check-out days (Thursday and Friday). The hotel are always willing to book for you (I tried to book the night before, it was written down in the little diary that they keep and then forgotten about meaning I went to the back of the queue the following morning), but it becomes a bit of a free for all with anyone in the lobby waiting for a taxi rushing to each one as it arrives. This is hardly the fault of the hotel though who can only book the cars and then hope that the drivers keep to the customer that they were booked for.
Overall I will be staying here again due to long term work arrangements, however for location and general quality I would still favour the Holiday Inn Grands Boulevards.
