“Very Nice...We Would Stay Again”

We stayed here just one night on our Alska trip. It really is a mini resort. Nothing fancy, but I would put it up against other lodging choices in Seward.
Check-in was friendly. There is a small gift shop with candy, sweatshirts, t-shirts, postcards.etc. A computer is free to use there too. Alot of brochures on diff. tours in the area. You can get discounted prices on many tour & sites in Alaska. Our room was basic, but clean. We had some noise from our neighbor. I spoke to her about it and from then on it was quiet. Walls are thin. We are not fisherman, so we have never seen a fish house. It was something to see. Glad we did. There is a small bar/restaurant that had a pretty good crowd. Downtown Seward is just down the road though. Grounds are very clean. We are glad we stayed here.

If you are lucky enough to stay here you are lucky. The price was excellent. We were happy they gave us two rooms next to each other. Beds were very comfy. Be sure to go into the room off from the lobby .Beautiful fireplace. We also hadbreakfast here. It was self serve and meet our needs for I think either 9 or 10 dollars each. (Not positive on the price could have been less). Very friendly staff.

“Far exceeded our expectations!”

We went to the Seward Military Resort the last week of July with a 3 generation family group age 10-60. The staff are extremely accomodating, and the resort is a bargain. The buildings are older than most hotels, but well maintained, and in a prime location.
The discounted tours were all great, but the best experience by far was the deep sea fishing conducted by the resort itself. The fishing guides were experienced, patient, and determined to see that everyone had a great time, and the resort assists you in getting your catch home. It was our first deep sea fishing experience, and everyone caught their quota, including the 10 year old!

Room Tip: For the best value and experience, call a year in advance and ask for a townhome.

“Great Military Benefit for Families!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2011

We spent 4 days in Seward recently and stayed at the Seward Military Resort. It's easy to find and just off the main highway. The grounds are very well maintained and lovely, and the front entrance is "grand" and beautiful. They have 2 laundry areas on-site, very clean restrooms, and the best Fish House! We did not know this Fish House allows you to bring your caught fish to clean, fillet, vacuum seal, and freeze - for free! The only charge is to purchase the bags - but they lend you everything else you need and provide a great place to do this work. This saves you a couple hundred dollars!

The townhouse was great - lots of space and clean. But they need to fix the pull out couch - too thin and old, making it very uncomfortable to sleep in.

We loved the kitchen - great to fix meals for the family without having to dine out all the time, and the appliance all worked great! A large screen TV and inside heating made it all so much nicer - even a private parking stall right outside the townhouse.

So if you're looking for a place to stay, you can't go wrong with this place - I'd return happily again.

P.S. The town of Seward is full of cute shops, friendly people, and lots of things to see and buy. They even have the friendliest post office people there!

“Not the same camp it was in the 90s”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2010

Since this camp was renovated it has become a premier Military Camp. I have stayed in both a room and a townhouse. The camp is well kept and is actually pleasant to look at. Gone are all the old Quonset Huts that have been replace by modern hotel rooms and town houses.
The Halibut fishing boats are very nice with heated enclosed cabins and indoor toilets no longer is fishing done from open Boston Whalers. Each boat has an actual Professional Captain not a TDY soldier and very capable deck hands. The fish house is great there are knifes and cleaning areas with running water. For a small few you can purchase vacuum packing bags may be purchase for use with the industrial grade vacuum packers. The deck hand will help or completely clean your fish for you, this they do for tips.
The staff is very caring and efficient and provide great service. If you have the privilege to be able to use the camp do!
