“A gem of a hotel with great staff”

We stayed at the Villa Andrea in Tucepi for seven nights at the end of September. From the moment we arrived the staff were helpful and friendly, always a smile and glsd to be of help. Our room was spotless. The location of the hotel at the quiet end of the promenade in Tucepi meant for a good night's sleep even with the windows open. The food at the hotel was great, especially the fish. All in all a find and good value.

“Lovey hotel with fantastic staff”

Just back from a week's stay at this wonderful hotel. Just 15 rooms with dining on a terrace overlooking the sea and the island of Brac. A mixture of nationalities and the excellent staff work as a team to make every guest;'s stay a pleasurable experience. The resort of Tucepi is very pleasant and relaxed and Villa Andrea is situated on the non-commerical side of the promenade and you can almost fall out of the hotel into the sea. A pebbly beach but the clearest water I have ever seen Probabaly not suitable for young children because of the pebbles but great for everyone else. Our stay was on half board and the food was very good.
In summary I cannot fault Villa Andrea and its staff.

“Excellent hotel just steps from a beautiful beach”

We discovered this small charming hotel summer '09 and were very satisfied with everything. It was very obvious that the stuff make a special effort to ensure that the hotel is well-run and guest feels very pleased. Super friendly staff will make your stay memorable. Restaurant offers a very tasty and varied menu, so we did not get bored eating there every evening. That’s why we booked room this year, as well and planning to spend our holiday there whenever we can.

“Perfect small hotel with friendly service and excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

Just returned from 2 weeks in Tucepi at this hotel. Other reviews say it all really and I can't fault this hotel. We enjoyed our stay here immensely.

Tucepi/Makarska Riviera itself is ok if sea and sun is all you are after. If you are looking for a more cultural/varied experience of Croatia then its probably not the ideal place to be. Maybe mix some time here chilling out with time on one of the islands (Hvar was interesting) or Dubrovnic/Split.

“Satisfactory leisure”

In total it was a very pleasnt stay!! First time in Dalmatia for us, too.

However, we have noticed two major faults at Villa Andrea:

1. In Villa of this chategory (****), we would expect (and demand!) better beds - the mattres was squeaking every time sombody had turned around, and they were absolutely too soft and unstable (non-supporting the spine). Fortunately, the sounds of waves have put us to sleep every night!

2. At dinner a delicious food was served every night h - exept the salad (always the same mixture). In restaurant of this chategory, a salad bar would be appriciated. Even if they are not able to serve much variety of vegetables, they sholud at least offer different salad dressings - olive oil, yoghurt, pumpkin seeds, etc.
Especially, since they already have a brekfast bar, which colud be used as a salad bar at dinner.

And a smaller fault, nevertheless as important: if they offer bikes to their guests, they should prepare them so they are usable (sits, tires, brakes, lights, ...). My wife wasn't able to use either one!

Some suggestions:
- we were surprised, that the prommende was open for traffic - both ways (after 6 hours of driving, I almost drove off to the beach avoiding the incoming vehicle!). That's is why we didn't use the car during our stay. Maybe they could offer a transfer to Makarska City in the evenings, since not much is happening in Kamena?
- in this manner, some kind of animation to the guest would be nice - at least an offer of a trip, fish picnic, watersports, etc. So we could trust the offer, that it is proven and worthy of the level we took our holidays.

These are just some suggestions - just to feel more "your guests" and "our hosts".

However, I can say the holiday at Villa Andrea was satisfactiory - just maybe a day to long ...

Dear Mr Gantar

I want to thank you for your review ;
1.We are very sorry if you were not satisfied with the mattresses, which contribute to poor sleep. In our program changes and maintenance for this winter are mattresses, although I must say that so far no one was dissatisfied.

2. Great idea for salad , Thank you very much!

3. I am so sorry that you didn't see on our board at the reception all the transfers, excursions, car rent, scooter rent, paintball, rafting, boat rent, also on the board are City Guide ( information Magazine ) for all Makarska Riviera, Tucepi tourist board information, Map of Tucepi, Program for Tucepi Summer Evenings and much more.....

I must also said that on our web page you have all this information with the note that you can
always contact our staff for assistance and organizing . I have to say that we also have board with all our service in front of the hotel on the promenade , so I am very, very sorry that you didn't contact our staff.

"we were surprised, that the promenade was open for traffic - both ways" I am sorry but that we can't change .

Bikes; yes we offer that for our quests free of charge and unfortunately sometimes it does not reach all the failures observed on bicycles, and we know comes to stay only a few correct.
I apologize that your wife could not use any bike.
We are very glad that you warned us of errors and we will do everything to correct them.

Regards
