This seems the be the perfect place for relaxing familiy vacation. Very nice and comfortable hotel, spacious rooms, most with balconies to the seaside. Wonderful buffets for breakfast and dinner. Friendly and helpful staff. And if you want more than relax in the sun - Porec and Rovinj are close enough for trips there.

There is a excellent choice of food both for breakfast and dinner. Beer, soft-driks, white wine and red wine of quite good quality are available for free during dinner.

This was my first visit to Croatia and certainly wont be my last.

The hotel is quite large, very clean. Aircondition in rooms is working well. There is a good choice of food both for breakfast and dinner. Beer, white wine and red wine of quite good quality are available for free during dinner, soft drinks too. It is strongly recommended to buy HB stay i.e. with dinner at Maestral Hotel since Novigrad is a small town and the restaurants there offer rather poor choice of food at prices which are not really attractive for that sort of quality. There are only 2 things which I did not like:
- the swimming pool surrounding area is too small, so the number of sunbeds is limited. Before 9.00 o,clock when sunbeds are made available there is a race of people to put towels there for booking. I succeeded only once to get the beds for me and my wife. The rest of time we were renting sunbeds at the beach for equivalent to Euro 4 per a bed. The second thing which I did not like was that despite the availablility of Internet (wired in the rooms and wireless at the lobby), there is no possibility of sending emails from email program of your computer. The network administrator blocks it. You can surf through Internet, you can download emails but to send emails you'd better have the paswords to your webmail with you. Otherwise you have a problem and must arrange new email account with qmail, msn etc. Everyone with laptop or iphone etc. had the same problem there.

A welcome snack was waiting inour room on our arrival as restaurant was about to close. lots of choice of food at dinnertime, not so much choice at breakfast, shame none of it was written in english so we had to take pot luck with our choices.none of the restaurant staff spoke english so was hard to ask what the food was. We weren't allowed to take any drink from the restaurant after dinner out to the terrace so our friends could smoke after their meal.no notices up stating this only that food wasn't allowed out of the restaurant,,,,,,,and how many people smuggled fruit out every morning!!
no information boards were in english even though we booked with an english company, so again it was trial and error on where we ended up going every day.
one of the reception staff helpfully sorted out a taxi for us to take us out for the day on some sightseeing, best value for money and best day out we had.
