I had a wonderful ski vacation at the Hotel Arlberghaus. The rooms were clean and simple--Germanic--the staff was at once friendly, unobtrusive, completely unobsequious, and the service was wonderful. Pretty much everyone speaks excellent English, by the way, so language is not an issue. Unlike most hotels in the area that want "in-season" bookings of no less than a week, this one will accommodate you for any length stay. The price includes breakfast and dinner, and represents an excellent value, especially when compared with nearby hotels. There is no attempt to chisel the guests; for example, Internet service is gratis. My room had a view of the ski slopes, which allowed me to assess conditions at a glance. They serve breakfast and dinner as part of the package. Breakfast was typically Austrian and well-done: think lots of meats, rolls, fresh bread, juice, fruit, and of course wonderful coffee. I was stunned by our first dinner: unlike ski resorts here in California, the dinner approached Michelin one-star quality. While dinners the next two nights weren't quite up to this standard, they were still excellent and represented good value. The proprietors have owned the place for generations and are both skiers; they freely offer excellent advice on where best to ski based on weather and snow conditions. There is a ski room downstairs with heated boot racks, lockable racks for skis, etc., and I literally skied from the lift to the ski room door. This hotel is family-friendly. I did not try the in-house spa or sauna--not my things. Ski passes are easily purchased at the front desk and the bus stop is right outside the hotel front door. Basically, your ski vacation begins the moment you check in. They offer parking, which is important because on a busy day the road through the valley is parked solid for miles, although be prepared to dig your car out if it snows and ... you may really need chains (hint: take the bus from the railway station). If I have any complaint at all, it is that--in-common with just about all hotels in Europe--the lobby has the faint smell of cigarette smoke. I highly recommend this hotel.
