We booked our holiday though Inghams and were to be placed on arrival so I was quite nervous about the quality of the accomodation. However, I needn't have been as we were lucky enough to stay in Gasthof Schone Aussicht located on a hill overlooking St. Johann. Moreover, we stayed in one of the front rooms where the view of the 'Wild Emperor Mountains' was on our doorstep. It was ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!

The room was extremely comfortable and very clean, something really important to us. The maids came during breakfast every morning to clean and did a super job!

The hotel is situated in a quiet location. Being at the front of the hotel we frequently heard the trains and small planes travelling through but this really wasn't a problem.

Breakfast was enjoyable with a range of cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, spreads and drinks to choose from. We didn't stay for tea as, being fussy eaters, we didn't think we'd enjoy it. We were right as other diners commented on the unusual combination of food served. Pork seemed to feature on the menu a lot.

Although the hotel didn't have a swimming pool, staying there entitled us to free use of the swimming pool at the local leisure centre.

The reception staff were friendly and accomodating and were willing to answer any questions we had. Their English was a lot better than my German and they mostly understand what you say.

As the hotel is located on a hill you need to be prepared for a five minute climb which, at the end of a long day, can be tiring but didn't put us off. The town centre is only a ten minute walk away.

Overall, we were very pleased and would be happy to stay again.
