“Didn't disappoint at all!”

My husband and I are going on a cruise with a group with friends and came to New Orleans two days early to take in NOLA. I chose this hotel as the price was right, the location was right, and I wanted a boutique hotel with the New Orleans feel. And an 89% approval rating from TripAdvisor members. We got it all.
If you want a chain or a fancy hotel then this isn't the place for you. If you want a comfortable hotel that is unique to the area then this is the place. Sure some of the decor is dated, the carpet is a little worn, but the place is clean and well maintained. Their are two criticism's that I have. 1. The pillows are horrible and need to be replaced, but still woke with no neck pain. 2. The walls and doors are very thin and you can hear conversations in the hall and except for the occasional revelers it was quiet. I would stay here again. And the staff was very friendly.

Room Tip: stay towards the middle of the hotel. We were in room 240, away from Conti street, but not too far...

“Not a fancy place but excellent Location”

If your looking for amenities like the Ritz then this place is not for you. Its not a fancy hotel. The beds are kinda old. The bathrooms are small. But, most people who want to stay around the French Quarter are there for one reason and one reason only, to PARTY! This hotel is literally almost on Bourbon st. The location is great. When your hammered drunk at 4am, who cares what the hotel looks like. It was clean and I saw no bugs. Plus the prices are very reasonable! Would stay here again.

“Very good experience with minor drawbacks”

We chose this hotel for its location and were not disappointed. It is a half block off of Bourbon Street, but we did not have any noise problems. We had a view of the parking lot, but that didn't matter. Everything was more than adequate, except for the blankets, which had holes in them, and the towels, which were threadbare. There was also an odd smell we couldn't quite place, but was not very strong. Front desk was helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but the Bombay Club bar was an oasis for adults with jazz at night. We had our first sazarac (sp?) cocktail there, which is supposedly the first cocktail ever and was invented in New Orleans. It's made with rye whiskey, lime, sugar and absinthe and tastes somewhat like a Manhattan.

“Fantastic Location”

This is a lovely charming hotel very close to Bourbon street but very quiet. We had a massive, clean room with a really cosy bed. WIFI is free and connection was really good. The cafe at the entrance is great, we got a $2 discount for breakfast. The sweet potato pancakes were divine and MASSIVE! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Charming Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This is a lovely hotel just around the corner from where all the action starts in the French Quarter, if you so desire it: The Bourbon Street scene! However the hotel is a quiet respite from all the goings on. It is clean, well maintained, and had a quiet, French charm. We stayed here for a week in January 2012, just before Mardi Gras, and could not have been more pleased with the pleasant comfort. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room is a good size with a comfortable, king size bed and the bathroom, modern and clean. And the rates were very reasonable. We look forward to returning.

Room Tip: You can call their local number 504-529-4172 and probably request a good room. Ours was room # 306...
