“Old world, with new world sophistication”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

This is by far a 4-star hotel, it is complete with excellent concierge service, beautiful rooms decorate with 18th century New Orleans charm. Walking down the hall, is comparable to being in The Buckingham Place---I would assume!! It is centrally located on Poydras, so a short walk to Superdome, Canal, or French Quarter....and a very short walk to Mother's!!! Overall, great hotel, will stay here again.

“Great hotel, good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Positives: wonderful classic look, fun peanut butter + jelly tradition (they have PB+J's at night for free), really great and helpful staff

Negatives: depending on your taste rooms may be a bit 'dated', location - it's in walking distance of bourbon street (10-15 mins), but there really isn't much else going on in the direct vicinity.

Overall - if you are looking for a good value hotel and don't mind not being in the immediate area of bourbon street/french quarter - then this is a fantastic choice.

“old world charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We were very pleased with every aspect of this hotel. It is within a short walking distance to Bourbon St., St. Charles Street trolley, the Superdome and many wonderful restaurants. The rooms were large and the bathroom was contemporary. The decor was new with an old world charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing we would do differently is park in nearby city parking instead of their valet parking.

“Old but nice.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Stayed at Le Pavillon during this year's Sugar Bowl. Reserved rooms through Hotwire and got a $120 a night rate which was a steal. The hotel is a little stuffy (not the people but the decorum) but it reminds you of going back to the Victorian era - heavy drapes, over stuffed lobby furniture, lots of gilding. Our room was very nice and clean and the king bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel was a 20 minute walk from the French Quarter but only a 5 minute walk from the Superdome. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Peanut butter sandwiches and hot chocolate in the lobby from 10 to 11 was a nice touch. Seems that back in 1987 a guest was talking to the manager about how when he was at home he shared a glass of milk and peanut butter sandwich with his daughter every night before she went to bed and he missed that when he was traveling. Upon hearing the story the manager had a chef bring the guest some milk and a peanut butter sandwich. Other guests saw the man enjoying it and ordered it for themselves and the tradition was born.
