Could not have arrived at a worst time as major renovations started only a couple of days before. First thing to see on a very late arrival at 1.30am was the area in front coned off and a giant skip with the news that the bar and restaurant were closed including for breakfast. Woken at 8am with pneumatic drills in what can only be described as a way under par room. My wife was just a teeny bit annoyed and went in search of the manager!
Here is where it got better. The manageress just knew what she obviously thought twenty paces out and to her credit did whatever she could. She changed our rooms to something much better and away a bit from the noise and credited our account with $200. She did all she could but should never have been put in this position in the first place.
Still however our stay was somewhat spoiled as you just could not stay in the hotel except in your room outside of working hours and there was no public rooms or even a bar available and the super courtyard area was unusable during the day due to the noise. The room was much better however it was still very, very tired and even the duvet smelled and was dirty!
Next day they even closed the street in front with a giant crane and three articulated lorries to lift in new aircon onto the roof. The pneumatics then got worse as they moved the compressors into the courtyard and left the doors all open to the work areas. The noise was just.....
On the plus side the young guys looking after the entrance and garage in particular Daniel could not have been more helpful. So stay here when completed but definitely not until is my recommendation.
