“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Conveniently located close to the Capitol. Very friendly staff. Large and comfy rooms. My only complaint is the bathroom is basic and FREEZING (I have to run the hot water whenever I am there even if I'm not using the shower or I will be freezing.) Free breakfast in the lobby or alternatively you can pay for Starbucks espresso drinks and packed sandwiches. The pool looks quite decent but I didn't get a chance to use it. Free and stable wifi but have to pay for parking. The garage is connected to the hotel.

Overall, good value for the price.

“comfortable and excellent value”

This hotel is well located near the State Capitol and a 10-15 minute walk to the University. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and was included in the very reasonable weekend rate. I will stay here next time in Madison

“A vacation in itself!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This hotel is awesome, and a vacation in itself! From the big fluffy king size bed, to the yummy toiletries, huge walk in shower and extra modern decor, this hotel is class at a reasonable price. The bad news is we were only here for one night, we were in the city to attend a show at Overature and wanted the closest hotel so we could walk to the show. Very friendly staff, we enjoyed a cocktail in the lobby before our show, woke up to a really good and unique breakfast, freshly made breakfast sandwiches, fruit and steel cut oatmeal with a variety of juices & teas. Didnt mind that we had to pay $10 for the parking, it wouldve been a hassle to drive to Overature and park in the ramps anyway. Our parking was only a few steps from the lobby the door and undercover, well worth $10. If I had to say anything even slightly negative it would be that the lobby cocktails were overpriced as well as the bottled water but as the saying goes, if you dont like dont buy it!

Room Tip: I have no doubt in my mind that all rooms are good.

“Nice hotel near the Capitol and State Street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Pros: just a couple blocks from State Street, nice clean modern decor rooms, friendly staff, free breakfast (not great but better than most free hotel breakfasts), fridge in room, nice HDTV in room. Starbucks espresso available in lobby,

Cons: no microwave. Parking isn't free. That's it.

Other / neutral: I'm glad there was a gym but it is pretty small. 2 treadmills 1 bike and 1 elliptical, nice rack of dumbbells. There is a pool but it is small too. I didn't use it. There is no hot tub.

“This place rocks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

I'm in the middle of spending about 30 days here as a result of a company relocation and I can tell you that the rooms are exceptionally clean, the staff are not only competent but they're actually really cool/nice people, and the breakfasts are WAY better than any Holiday Inn Express/Hampton Inn/Fairfield, etc. The value in staying here is through the roof. As someone that stays in hotels 80 days a year for work in anything from 5 star to no star, I can promise you that you will get your money's worth AND a good night's sleep at this great property.

Room Tip: If you want a decent view of Washington Ave. leading up to the Capitol, ask for an "09" ro...
