I had an early morning business meeting in the greater Madison area, and decided to save myself the 4am drive and stay up the evening before. Everything in the area I had my meeting was $100+, so looking a little further afield, I ended up picking the Sleep Inn and Suites. This is a very new hotel (2-3 years old, tops), and is impeccably clean. It is in an odd location off of the beltway, but come on, unless you are right downtown, you aren't walking to anything, anyway - especially in winter!
I had a King room, which was more spacious than I was expecting it to be. Large desk and very comfortable chair made getting work done very convenient. Staff was very friendly, and the hotel had a great looking pool that my kids would have loved.
I'd have given it an "Excellent" rating, but for the fact that the bed linens were pretty spartan. The only other Sleep Inn I've stayed at had great sheets and down comforters, so that was a small let-down on an otherwise great stay.
