Most people want hotels around Lake Hamilton or the Race track, but we were pleased to stay at the Red Roof Inn which is a remodeled hotel right at the entrance to Hot Springs, and closest to the amusement park (great for families). Plenty of hot water, very comfortable mattress, had iron, small fridge, clean carpets, good internet WiFi, warm heat.....and surprisingly quiet. Right in their back yard is a trail up to the high observation tower, or one can take another route to walk over to Bath House row....easy trail, suggest walking shoes....takes about 30 minutes. We have stayed in several hot springs hotels, and WE WILL STAY AT THE RED ROOF again, as we go to HS quite often. The hotel owners live on the property, and very helpful. Machine coffee not too tasty, but apple and orange juice delicious, limited continental breakfast. The hotel was decorated with Christmas tree and other decorations, parking lot well lighted, steep stairs for seniors to second floor, suggest 1st floor, easy access and view of autos, spent a weekend there, no local traffic in parking lot.
