“Grand Dame down at the heel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I tend to cherish my stays at well-established, older hotels with a long history. The Arlington, however, seems to have seen its day. I can say that the personnel--from the valets to the bartenders--do have that old school panache when it comes to service. I did enjoy the three piece band in the lobby bar, and the dancing!

As for my room, it was on the top floor with an interesting view; it was very large with a walk-in closet, and an old-fashioned tile bathroom with a mineral water faucet in the bathtub.

I have to say, while it wasn't unpleasant, The Arlington Resort Hotel and Spa has lost its burnish.

Room Tip: I assume the top floor has the better rooms.

The ArlingtOn is a nostalgic hotel with lots of class. The rooms are spacious and charming. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and willing to accommodate all of our requests. The spa inside the hotel was an extra special treat, a must for all visitors.

“Great if you enjoy historical hotels”

I really enjoyed this hotel. It has a great history, and lots of character. If you are looking for upscale luxury, you might take a pass on this one. The hotel was very clean, and all the employees were friendly. It is a full service hotel, and I was told that most of the employees had worked there a very long time. I had no complaints, really If you stay in a historical room, be warned that it is exactly that. Needs updating, but charming nonetheless.

“Kind of worn out, but wonderful service, beautiful lobby and bar”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I stayed in a small room on the 4th floor, which was just a walk down the hall from the bath house! The room was worn out, lots of dust and cobwebs behind the bed, which I noticed when looking for a place to plug in my laptop. Walls were thin, pillows flat and not comfortable. But I still love this old hotel. It just has a nice feel to it, lots of character, and the hotel staff was wonderful. I had "the works" spa package. Glenda is a great lady, and she knows how to make you feel at ease immediately. Jennifer gave me the best massage I've ever had. Valet parking was full when I arrived, so I had to park my car next door, which was a pain in the rear, given that the temperature was right at freezing and I was traveling alone. But the parking attendant was very nice, and it was impossible to stay mad about this! The hotel bar was beautiful. There was a convention of some sort, so it was lively and a bit crowded, but quieted down before 10:00. If you are looking for brand new high end bedding, stay at one of the nice chain hotels in town, but if you want historic, and don't mind a little dust, stay here.

Room Tip: Free parking available next door. Get The Works spa package. It was the best $62 I ever spent.
