situated in the heart of nuwara eliya this hotel is ideal for afew nights stopover when touring sri lanka. it looks abit old fashioned probably up to date in its hey day but it is elegant and convenient. the service in the dining room was slow but the food was good.

We accepted the second room offered to us once we had convinced the recetionist that we had a prepaid booking. This room still featured black mould and those taking a shower before dusk were exposed to the workmen opposite. The toilet seat was badly cracked.The lounge/dinning area jute carpet was filthy and there was no chance to escape to the garden since the grass was overgrown as well as the furniture being broken and dirty. I am sure this was once a lovely place and could be again but it is not a good place to stay at present.

This hotel was so bad that we did not stay but our Guide and driver used the room instead and said how poor quality it was and one of the beds was broken, room was mouldy and bathroom indescribble! They also said that the drivers accomodation was worse than a cow shed which is why we gave them our vacated room as it was pre - paid..

Excellent service - the staff were simply superb in their service. From opening the bar at 11 PM to a customized breakfast, they just did everything that we asked for. The hotel is a old one but very neatly maintained. Not for anyone who's looking for luxury as the main criteria. A value for money hotel.
