“A gem. Beautiful.”

Away from the city hustle bustle, a few extra minutes of taxi ride, but well worth it. If you want the true Bali experience and not expecting the commercialized Bali luxury, then this is your spot. The expectations here are way above the back packer paradise. You will enjoy your stay here no matter who you are.

I almost don't want t leave this review because of selfish reasons...

Every villa is nestled in a serene, tropical and lucious green setting...rice patty view or no rice patty view...

The hotel shuttle does not make frequent stops but taxis are affordable.

Take the village tour. You will appreciate this vacation so much more. The tour guide speaks good English and can tell you all about the Tegalalong art, culture and lifestyle.

The reason why I didn't give this a five star rating is because they don't have menities such as 24hr room service, baby sitting, valet and butler... But what ever... You're in Bali.

Not many people will eat at the Alam Sari restaurants for dinner because there are so many choices in Ubud...but this restaurant is DELICIOUS. E My significant other and I got t back to the hotel early one evening because he wasn't feeling well. We decided to order dinner at the hotel's restaurant and did not expect much. The food blew our mind away. It was probably the best meal in Ubud. Every ingredient was fresh from their organic garden. So make a point out of your busy schedule to eat dinner here.

Alam Sari Keliki in Tegalalong was truly a great experience and we would go back there in a heart beat.

“I will go back there”

We booked this stay for four nights after stumbling upon it on tripadvisor. Certainly very glad that we did.
Family of six staying in Villa Saraswati. You must do it if staying with family.
To begin with, the breakfasts are lovely - service with a smile, lovely jams and homemade croissants. Fresh Juice, strong coffee.
The villa is amazing with panoramic views over the valley. To give you an idea - it is simply breathtaking.
There is no private swimming pool for the villa but the motel pool is only a short stroll.
The complimentary trips into Ubud are very handy.
The village tour is a highlight and you must purchase some of the artworks on offer from the village artist.
The food in the restaurant is good and you should eat there at least once, however, Ubud has the very best in culinaty offerings so you would be well served to head to Ubud.
The staff are very freindly.
The location of the hotel and the ambience of being perched high on a hill is serenely relaxing, although the serenity is often interrupted by the humming of motorcycles on the busy road below.
The smaller villas looked comfortable, but I can't helap but think that most staying in these were truly envious of the villa saraswati.
Overall, this was a memorable travel experience primarily due to the fantastic lliving quaters provided by the villa saraswati.

“Resort retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

This hotel is a little way out of Ubud, around 15 minutes d rive. It offers 3 shuttle servives per day to town or pick up back. I found it relaxing. The food was good in the hotel and not expensive. The staff were the shining winner for me. Really beautiful and very fun, excellent with my kids also. Views are outstanding. The 3 bed villa is to die for, open verandah living space, furnishing that are designer bali style, soooooo beautiful. Bedrooms that are exquisit luxury and tasteful... spa... view over to the volcano.....ahhh where's the champayne??? I am going to spend one night at least in this villa next time I go there. This one is a good one! :)

Room Tip: Family rooms sleep the kids on a mattress on the floor. Little cramped 2 bed villa was good as it ha...

“Alam sari Keliki, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

The hotel is in the interiors of Ubud, a half hour distance from Ubud Centre but great for a quiet vacation away from the bustle of Ubud. It rests in a village called Keliki and the village tour is worth the effort. Value for money. Great Food. Staff is friendly and good. There is little noise from the road though and mosquitoes and bugs are to be expected since its in a forested area. If you arrange a bike, then travel around the rice paddies and other villages would be great. They even have their own organic garden. Its a backpacker's paradise although a much better quality.

Room Tip: Lots of room choices, enquire before you confirm your booking. Book a room away from the road althou...

“Lovely weekend getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

Spent a delightful weekend at this hotel. Staff are friendly and efficient and speak English well. The rooms are villa style, free standing rooms, gorgeously simple with a little patio outside each room, the ensuite even has a little garden ( but totally enclosed so no one can see in or out). My room overlooked the small pool, great for cooling off and love that it's in 3 different depths.
The hotel is built on the side of a hill, so there are many different levels throughout the grounds, one is always climbing stairs up or down to get from the spa or gym to the pool or dining area.
Love that they are eco-friendly - use of solar power for heating up water, notice about towel re-use (guests' choice).
Appreciated the in-room safe and the hairdryer ( this is the mark of a hotel that pays attention to the details).
Rooms are also provided with a small kettle to make tea and coffee, as well as sachets of tea and premix coffee.
Downsides:
- the high panelled ceilings in my room obviously harboured many cecaks which left little deposits all over the floor and bed, have to be careful where you step!
-there is still some renovation/construction happening on site so have to be pay attention as walking past working areas.
-the different levels of the hotel (and also the initial short climb to the hotel) means this hotel is not suited for people with disabilities/in a wheelchair.
- Have to book 1 hour ahead for spa treatment as therapists are not immediately on hand.
- The hotel is above a rather noisy thorough road with quite a bit of traffic at certain times of day ( evenings are usually quieter, or else I got used to the noise).

Upsides:
-The food was magnificent. We had a set buffet both nights and the food was plentiful and varied. They use some produce from their own organic garden( which you can walk around and see for yourself). The breakfast is great- try the home made croissants, melt in mouth goodness, the fruit juice is fresh, the fruit bowl with yoghurt uses local and in-season fruits.
-The jacuzzi is super nice - just the right level of heat to soothe aching muscles, before a cleansing and cooling dip in the pool.
-The view is amazing- you can see Mt Agung in the mornings- and the hotel grounds are beautifully yet naturally landscaped ( not too manicured, there was a delicious wildness about it too)
