“Ideal for Business Travellers and Families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Although not the cheapest hotel in the area this hotel offers you the best value for dollar. You get what you pay for and all of the extras really add up to make this hotel one of the best I have ever stayed at.

The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff is fantastic. When we were booking, we explained our needs and they upgraded us for free before we even arrived. I've never had service this exceptional. To an individual every hotel employee was friendly and accommodating.

The property is in a great location, close to the Independence Mall. There is lots of eating options in the area.

the beds are very comfortable. The rooms are well laid-out and they all include a dishwasher, microwave, and stove top. This makes it easy to feed your family when you're on the road without having to resort to burgers. The free breakfast buffet offered up solid food too.

If you want to make your own burgers, there is a patio area with grills. There is also a guest laundry that is offered at no charge - just bring your own soap and fabric softener.

Quick note - this is a hotel aimed at the long term traveler. As such don't expect housekeeping every day - they do have a note in the room explaining how housekeeping works. Personally, I prefer not having someone go through my room every day so the we don't come unless you ask approach worked well for me but it may come as a surprise to some.

You get what you pay for and all the little extras with this hotel make it well worth the money. You'll get a good night's sleep and you will feel like you're more at home and less at a hotel.

“Nice Place very relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

This Hotel is difficult to get to at first. the Driections on the GPS on my phone did not take me to the listed address of the hotel. Then when you turn into the hotel you think there will be a back entrance on the road behind it but it is not so be carful. The Staff s very friendly. I did get a first floor room which I am usually very leary of because you have people walking by all the time. but it is designed better than most hotels where people are not walking by the room to get out of the hotel go to the gym etc. The Breakfeast that everyone talks about that is so good. I was actually a little disapointed . It's OK I have had just as good a breakfeast at the Best Western or a Hampton in etc. They do offer a diner and happy hour in the lobby during the week for guest with a roatating schedule. I did not get to participate in this but the menu looked good and the beer selection looked OK as well. The beds and the couch were nice and was able to be comfortable and it was easy to relax. The kitchenette was stocked with a diswasher and even had wine glasses! The bed was comfortable overall a good value for the money spent great for business travel or it would be good for a family with children with the breakfeast and dinner inculded !

“Very nice but LOUD!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Stayed for two nights Thanksgiving weekend in a two bedroom suite. The suite was spotlessly clean, the type of room we reserved and special requests met.

The only problem was the people on the other side of the king bedroom were having a loud party Friday night and long into Saturday morning. Despite asking them politely and directly to keep it down, and calling the front desk twice, the noise went on unabated until after four in the morning. The first morning we asked the front desk about moving rooms, but there were no rooms available that met our needs. We toughed it out the second night; which was also loud but mercifully ended earlier.

I really like this hotel, as we have stayed here previously and found it almost perfect for our needs, but we may have to look elsewhere next time due to our lack of sleep!

Room Tip: Not much you can do--don't end up by loud people, because nothing will be done about it!

Dear Guest,

I am very sorry to hear that your visit to our hotel was anything less than perfect. We take pride in trying to make all of our guests have pleasant, impressionable stays. Our standard practice at the Staybridge Suites KC-Independence is to give a guest with noise complaints two warnings to control their noise. If the noise is not controlled, we simply ask the guests to leave the hotel to ensure our other guests are not disturbed. I assure you I will follow up with my team as to why our practices were not followed, as they usaually are quite consistant. Please contact me personally when you plan to visit the area again. I promise we will do our best to take great care of you and your family. And as always, thank you for review. Without travelers like you, we would not have the opportunity to make even better. Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

Kindest regards,
Lindsay Chapman, General Manager

“Great for a few nights, boring location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

Stayed here in September 2011 for a wedding that was just down the road. Can't complain about the hotel. The bed was lovely and I really liked the layout of the rooms. The location was pretty boring with not much to see, but it was withing walking distance of a mall and some restaurants so that was good. Also, really impressed that the front desk gave me free mouthwash, toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant.

“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very clean and felt like home. The only bad thing I can say is the furniture in our room was torn up at the seams (seems like an easy fix). Other than that, perfect stay.
