I have been staying at this hotel every year since back in the 70's. At least once a year and sometimes up to 3 times a year. It is a older hotel which is fine with me. I wan't looking for anything fancy just a safe hotel and clean room which is what I have always had up to this year. The safety is still there no problem there. But we did have a problem with the room this year. I was there with my sister Oct. 20th to Oct. 23. and the floors was never vacuum. The day we went in there was a toe nail clipping on the carpet that had not been vacuum up from the previous guest. One of the afternoons we came back from going to Cades Cove and the didn't even pick up all of the dirty towels. I went down and spoke to the gentleman at the front desk and told him about the problems and he followed me down to the room to get the dirty towels and to pick up the toe nail clipping. He said that we could speak to the lady at the front desk the next morning but he felt sure she wouldn't do anything about the problem. He was very friendly and went out of his way to help us.

The next morning I did speak to the lady at the front desk and all she said was she had a housekeeper to quit the day before. I wasn't looking for a discount on the room, I just thought she should know the housekeeper wasn't doing that good of a job. We always left the housekeeper a tip every morning so I really don't think that was the reason our room wasn't never really cleaned.

One of my main reason I have always stayed here is beacuse it is in the middle of down town Gatlinburg. I hate to say this is the my last year staying here.

This is the nastiest motel I have ever seen. The pictures on the web look nice - very misleading! It is old, stinky, and the elevator didn't work. I asked for my money back, which they did. Even if they hadn't given me my money back, I would have left. I would have been afraid to lay my head down in that nasty place. It needs to be condemned. The owner sure doesn't put any money back into the motel. The only decent thing was the location. The owner should be ashamed for the way this motel has gone downhill over the years and not being kept up and updated.

If you're looking for modern, go somewhere else. But, if you are looking for an original mountain lodging experience, this is your place. Great location, nice staff, for this Gatlinburg "original".

Loved everything about this hotel. Location was great, staff was friendly, rooms were clean. Rocking chairs out front of hotel for sitting and watching all the goings on in Gatlinburg. Located right in the middle of all the action. Cant wait to come back and stay again.
