We did a weekend trip to gatlinburg and stayed at the twin islands. Very good location, the rooms were very clean, seemed to be remodeled recently. Staff was friendly and the pool and jacuzzi were great. Cost was reasonable.

I have stayed at this hotel for over 10 years and my last stay was Sept 21st - Sept 24th. I love this location because it is right on the edge of town. I have stayed downtown before and it is entirely too noisy. I have also stayed further out from town and it is a total hassle to drive and pay to park somewhere. Downtown Gatlinburg is alot of fun to walk and visit the variety of stores. In other words, there is plenty to do and great places to eat!!
The staff at the Twin Islands are very nice and can't seem to do enough for you. I have made friends on my visits and look forward to seeing them each time I visit Gatlinburg.
The rooms are quaint and very clean. I have stayed here at least 15 times and have never had a problem with cleanliness.
This past year, Twin Islands have updated all the beds with new Beauty Rest mattresses. I sleep much better there than I do at home now.
You will enjoy Twin Islands not only because of the above mentioned reasons, but because its quite and has plenty to offer in the way of scenery. There is a stream running around the entire hotel. The majority of the room have balconys or back doors to walk out on the grassy landing. On the side by the office, there are plenty of ducks and occasionally an otter swimming in the stream.
On my last trip, I discovered that hot breakfast was available free of charge so this just adds to the charm.
I will go back to Gatlinburg again in January of 2012 and this is the only place for me to stay. I think you will enjoy it without a doubt!!!

After spending roughly 2 hours driving 2 miles, we finally arrived. It looked slightly rusty - no big deal. We get to our room and the first thing we see is a lizard on the bed. Went to the main office and asked for our money back. The lady just gave us a new room. Called for a blanket later that night and it took over 30 minutes for it to arrive. I refused to tip the old cripple and so she stood at the door knocking and speaking so variation of Chinese for at least 20 minutes. We called security went back to sleep and fled the next morning. We had booked 5 nights. Stay here only if your looking for a cheap thrill.

Best Western Twin Islands is located right in the middle of Gatlinburg, within a block of Ripley's Aquarium. The location makes it perfect for walking right out into Gatlinburg without having to get into the traffic. I have been staying here for well over 25 years and never had a bad experience or a bad room. All of their rooms are creekside and clean. They have a variety of room types, some include fireplaces. They have recently upated the rooms(that I have stayed in) Bathrooms are done very nicely and modern.Rooms have microwaves and fridge and a huge vanity area for getting ready. We have always been accomadated when requesting adjoining rooms. Their grounds are nice and homey with an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, playground ,picnic tables and a few grills. We just returned from being there this weekend and as usual it was great. They have a free hot breakfast with eggs, biscuits & gravy ,cereal, fruit,juices etc. We had a Do not disturb on our door and when we were going out for the day , found a bag of towels, coffee packs etc hanging on our doorknob. Highly recommend this place for a trip to Gatlinburg. Great atmosphere for couples or families.
