My fiance and I have started a new tradition of celebrating New Year's in Gatlinburg, Tn. While visiting Carr's for the first time this year, we have decided to added them as part of our tradition, also. We had a great experience. The room was clean, the staff was courteous and I can't forget how economical the rate was,especially during the holiday season. I would recommend this motel to anyone.

the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly! The only drawback was that it was rather far from downtown Gatlinburg, that is walking of course.

If you are looking for a clean and roomy place for a very reasonable rate, this place is for you. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff was courteous and helpful.

If you are looking for new furnishings and updated wall coverings or bath fixtures, I would not recommend this. All these were clean and adequate, but they were dated.

My only complaint was that we arrived on a very cold day in December and it took the heater a LONG time to warm our room... it was over four hours after our arrival before we started taking our coats off. Fortunately there is much to do in Gatlinburg while you're waiting!

Overall, a great value - we will be back.

I have been going to Gatlinburg, (Smokey Mountains) since I was seven back in 1961 with my parents on family vacations. They only stayed at Carr's Cottges since the first time we visited there. My entire family has carried on the tradition of going to Carr's at least once a year since that time. I took my wife there for the first time in 1980 and she loved it then and still does now. Taking a quote "There is no place like home" except at Carr's, as close to home but still on vacation. The setting, the creek, the trees surrounding the property, and best of all the staff (family). Carr's is close to downtown, you can walk, drive or take the trolley to downtown and back. Nice pool, hot tub, clean rooms, just the best !!! Plans are already made for another weekend trip to Carr's and the Great Smokey Mountains in 2012.
