My husband and I, along with another couple, did a five-day motorcycle tour through PA, MD, WV, TN, NC, and VA back at the beginning of October. One of our days put us in Gatlinburg for the night, so I came to Trip Advisor looking for a place to stay. I found the Kingwood Inn and I'm so glad I did! Everyone at the Kingwood was very friendly and the room was perfect for our needs - a place to shower and sleep, wireless internet and cable so we could monitor the weather, well-lit parking just outside the rooms so we could keep an eye on the bikes and not have to make multiple trips with the side and top cases. The room was clean and everything was in working order. We enjoyed being so close to downtown WITHOUT being right in the mix of things (the Inn is one block up and one block over from the main drag). The Kingwood Inn's location is one of its best amenities - close enough to the action, but far enough away that it's quiet! We will definitely stay here again the next time our travels bring us to Gatlinburg.

Just returned from another visit to Gatlinburg, and stay with Kingwood Inn. I have never had a bad visit here. Mary and the entire staff at Kingwood are friendly and always ready to make my visit plesant. I have visited several times now and It is beginning to feel like a home away from home. I have stayed at many other hotels in the area in the past, and although the Kingwood is an older hotel, I think it is wonderful, and my daughter and I both have laptops and had no trouble getting onto the internet IN OUR ROOM!!. If you are looking for the most up to date hotel with a big screen TV, then you won't like this one. If your looking for a clean, affordable, friendly atmosphere then this is the place for you.

We stayed at the Kingwood Inn Oct 20-23rd. We really enjoyed our stay! The staff was very nice and helpful. Mary was great! The room was clean and comfortable; great water pressure in the shower, plenty of hot water, clean towels & linen, bed was comfortable, the wireless internet worked fine with no problems, plenty of doughnuts and hot coffee every morning; the neighborhood was quiet and a short distance to the main street of Gatlinburg. The trolley pick up was infront of the hotel. I liked how the hotel was tucked back in it's own corner of the block. Absolutely no traffic noise.
We WILL stay here again and would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

We booked our stay in Aug. based on previous reviews. Upon reading more current reviews, I was starting to be concerned: NO NEED TO BE!! We stayed Oct. 7&8. Was a very nice stay! We would DEFINATELY stay here again, and would recommend it to friends!! The outside was very nice, the room was nice. Towels were perfect!! Bed was outstanding!! Absolutely NOTHING to complain about!! Location is outstanding. It is a private, local owned hotel, so yes it will be dated.. most are, but thought it very quaint; and well maintained. Pool looked very inviting, but didn't use it. We eat on the road so didn't do breakfast. Can't wait to go back to the Smokies in the fall! When we do we will stay here again!! (fyi perfect for motorcycles)

I did take the tip and get a fireplace room, didn't use fireplace but the room was great!
