I didn't want to give this place a good review to keep it to myself. Rooms are around $100. Parking is free, building (and rooms, of course) are brand-new and spotless. If you're visiting Manhattan, it's about 20+ minutes to midtown by subway.

I booked a reservation through Hotel.com and was charged $140.00 for the night. When I arrived to check in at midnight the front desk clerk checked my reservation and stated that he needs my credit card to place an incidental fee of $150.00 which will be credit at time of checkout. I was sure that I would see the credit the next day and it was not. I called the hotel and was told that the credit will take up to 3 days. I was furious because the room was left immaculate and I see no reason why I should wait 3 days for the hold to be removed from account. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. Bad business!!!
I decided to do something different for Christmas 2011, so I went to visit my friends in New York. Booked my hotel stay through AAA and my agent gave me great reviews about this property. I was a little nervous, being that I don't know much about NYC, but want to stay nearby my friends. But to my suprise the hotel was very nice and staff friendly! My room was small but cozy, loved the new decor, just right a single person. Noticed security cameras and staff on hand in hotel...I felt safe. The subway entrance, grocery store, deli etc was steps away from the hotel...so convenient. I enjoyed the free breakfast, gym and use of the business center(since I didn't bring laptop). I must say, I was disappointed to find out the spa was only open on certain days and the jacuzzi was out of order. This would have made the perfect mini vacation for me. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We had a four night stay (Dec 4-8, 2011), and came away impressed. We agree with previous comments that the bedding and bathrooms were comfy and clean, the breakfast room was not set up for big crowds, and the two double bed room was extremely tight. The closeness to the subway system was a huge plus at the end of a long day.
Here are additional things we noticed----- The mattresses were in new zippered slipcovers - no worries about that bedbug issue. No really, I'll admit we looked! And while the breakfast room was crowded, the overflow dining room around the corner was nicer and quieter. And I compliment the woman in charge of restocking the food items. She was constantly being peppered with questions and requests -sometimes in a foreign accent she clearly was not understanding. She remained polite and courteous. She deserves a holiday bonus for handling this demanding job. She greeted me with a pleasant smile every day.
And finally, when we requested a quick peek at a room with a single bed, Alex at the front desk dropped what he was doing to accommodate us. His prompt and professional attention will guarantee a future booking from us.

This is a good choice if you don't want to pay for Manhattan but want to visit Manhattan. If you're comfortable riding the subway, it is a good option.
