Our recent stay at The Fairfield Inn & Suites in Brooklyn was nearly perfect. The hotel has a friendly helpful staff. The free breakfast is a plus. The dining area is clean and spacious. The hotel itself is new to the neighborhood and has great curb appeal. Our room was large-by NYC standards. King size bed was comfy. I have a very minor complaint about the shower-it is "marble" and the floor gets slippery when wet. A textured floor would make it safer and a grab bar would be great. Everything else was spot-on. The price was right and within our budget. I was glad to see that Marriott was investing its' resources in an up and coming area of Brooklyn. The area is similar to many transitional urban neighborhoods in most large cities: lots of diversity, old and new construction, new businesses next to closed storefronts, an uneven environment but ripe with promise. We felt comfortable walking the few short blocks to the subway. In the evenings, we took a cab to and from the city. We are glad we found this hidden gem. We plan to stay there in the future.
