“Steps away from NYC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My Family and I visitied NYC between Christmas and New Years, booking 4 rooms and stayed 2 nights.

The hotel is very nice, looks recently updated. Has a very modern feel to it. Staff was very polite and helpful; gave easy direction to the closest Subway (only 3 blocks away) that took us to Time Square within minutes.

The Hotel is a nice walk away from the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.

The rooms were spacious and clean, nice flat screen TV and comfortable king size bed.

We ate breakfast downstairs, which was OK. Nothing special. Although it was odd that they ran out of Bacon, Orange Juice and one or two other staples of Breakfast Menu items…

The bar on the top floor was not what i was hoping for what is considered a Business Hotel. You had to exit the hotel and come back in a separate entrance. The bar itself was nice with great views, comfortable seating for conversation... but the disco type music they had playing was at such a high volume it was hard to hear your companion even when screaming. For a midweek visit the music should have been softer and possibly Jazz like to promote conversation and changed to a Night club on the weekends.

Odd how my biggest complaint (wording wise) is against the bar and not the Hotel itself... so I guess I really did like the hotel!!

We couldn't agree more. Great proximity to subways, restaurants and shopping along with a fabulous staff and our suite sleeper beds which Sheraton is so well known for.

Thanks for the kind words. We look forward to being your host again in the near future

“Poor customer service relationship”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The facilities of the Hotel were good but besides a couple of staff members, most of them needed to work very hard on showing a better service to customers. First of all, the lady who helped me to book the room over the phone was very sharp, no polite, and insensitive. After reserving my room, I called back to tell her that I did not receive her email with the details of my reservation, she said that she had sent it already, I said that I did not receive it and she asked me to call later. three days later, I called to the 1-800 phone number and finally a customer representative found out that my name and email address was wrong, fixed it and sent me the email back.

I arrived to the hotel expecting a parking lot that they don't have, I call them and asked for parking directions and somebody directed me to a private outside parking that doesn't connect directly to the hotel, which charge $25.00 per night. The first morning in the hotel we had a buffet breakfast in the main restaurant, then the second day we went to the restaurant and they told me that I was suppose to go to another floor to get it. No one had told me that; the brochure reads that breakfast was until 11:30, while downstairs the staff told me that was until 11:00 am. Finally, we ate downstairs, where they charged me about $97.00, but one of the staff members gently gave me three coupons of $25.00 when I told him that my reservation included breakfast, so I end up paying the rest, which wasn't that bad. I said to the lady in the restaurant that I was expecting a better service in a 4 stars hotel, to which she said "YOU ARE IN BROOKLYN" and I was simply SPEECHLESS.

“King Size bed for a Queen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I enjoyed the Sheraton Hotel in Brooklyn. Its on a very small street but the area surrounding it was filled with different store and a variety of fast food options.
The Lobby is quite small compared to other Sheratons I've stayed at but checking in and out was very easy.
I would go back in a heart beat.

“Nice hotel and staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

While I have not personally stayed at this hotel, I book corporate travelers here often. My experience with their staff has been excellent. This hotel is newer (opened in the last year), and offers many amenities. Their basic rooms are on par for a NY hotel, however some travelers not familiar with NY might find them to be a tad small. The only downfall of this hotel is that it's located on a random side street, although that may be a plus to some who are looking for less street noise. It's near all major subway lines, as well as walking distance to all downtown Brooklyn corporate offices.
