Dale and Jo’s is a beautiful B&B in Fairbanks, a large 3 story home in a beautiful setting just outside of Fairbanks, from our room we could see the Alaskan ranges and Mt McKinley (if only it would come out of the clouds), our room was large with a sitting area where you could relax, read, watch TV etc, bedding was very comfortable, and the bathroom had everything you needed and more. We really enjoyed the breakfasts, we were treated to homemade quiche, banana and orange bread, homemade yogurt and blueberries and of course hot coffee and juice. Thanks Jo for your hospitality, we felt as if we had stayed with a friend.

As new transplants to Anchorage this year, we decided to embrace our first Alaskan winter and check out Fairbanks to experience real cold, visit the Arctic Circle and see if we could find the northern lights. Dale and Jo’s had been recommended to us as “the only place to stay in Fairbanks” and we were delighted that we took that advice to stay for our 4 day visit. We started out with a great feeling about our choice even before we arrived. When I called to make our reservation, Jo indicated concern about our wellbeing driving in the winter weather on roads that could be quite isolated, and asked that we give her a call when we were on the road, so that if we didn’t arrive on time she would call some help for us. When we arrived, she introduced us to the Jacquard Guest room that we had reserved. It really was everything we hoped for, and more. Our accommodations were immaculate, brightly lit- important at the time of year that we were visiting (yet subdued lighting is also available for reading), tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. We especially appreciated the choice of warm colors on the walls. The bedroom was large, the bed exceptionally comfortable, and the room quiet. The bathroom was roomy and pristine. The separate lounge area with comfy couch was great for reading, and the roomy kitchen area also provided everything we needed to make our own meals and snacks. When we did decide to eat out, Jo’s suggestions were spot on with what we were looking for. We had 2 breakfasts in the dining area, and two pre-prepared breakfasts which we requested to meet our schedule. All were delicious, included fresh fruit, and amounts that were generous. During the time we visited there was a bit of snow, and the walkways to our room were extremely well shoveled. Our car appreciated the warmth provided by the plug in at night. We had a great time in Fairbanks, and are planning a return visit for the World Ice Art Festival next year. We will not even look around at other places to stay, as Dale and Jo’s IS the only place for us!

I had a great time. Dale and Jo's bed and breakfast was a pleasure to experience.
I had some last minunte diet changes and Jo was able to adjust the breakfast menu for me. The breakfasts were delicious.
Everything is clean and very comfortable.
Jo is very friendly and yet not intrusive. I missed seeing the aurora but Jo was up checking the skies almost as much as I was so I would not miss it.
I look forward to visiting again.

After spending over two weeks in Alaska (from Anchorage, Peninsula, Denali and Fairbanks) celebrating our father's birthday, I can honestly say that Dale and Jo's B&B was by far the most beautiful, tranquil, cleanest and nicest place that we stayed during our trip to Alaska. Meticulous touches, including but not limited to fine linens, towels, furnishings, toiletries, etc. make Dale and Jo B&B an absolutely wonderful place to stay in Fairbanks. Dale and Jo are both so wonderfully helpful without being intrusive.

Due to lack of good fishing in Fairbanks, we left Fairbanks a couple of days early to head back to the Peninsula. While I certainly did not expect the B&B to provide a refund given the fact that I had prepaid and cancelled the last two days without sufficient notice, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from Jo stating that she was able to re-book the two bedroom apartment and therefore, refunded a portion of the room.
