We decided to make Fredericksburg our stopping pont on the way from home (Rochester, NY area) to the Outer Banks. We'd only passed through once before so I wasn't sure just how it would be. We are extremely glad we stayed - for the town and certainly the Schooler House.
While my wife loves antiques, I'm iffy. But this place changed my attitude. Rather than considering them "antiques" I thought of so much of the contents as "that's an old thing I remember.. isn't great they have one". Or, "isn't that clever". And "what a great combination of charming things". Everywhere you turn there are visual delights.
The rooms were just terrific. The back garden was so nice and relaxing. The breakfast was scrumptious.
We wandered into town for dinner - very nice town with great looking (mostly, it seemed) antique shops. Had an excellent dinner at Tru Luvs.
Next time - will spend more than one night.
