I recently spent four nights at the Rome, NY Wingate Hotel. I was traveling on a business trip to provide training at the old Grifiss Air Force Base.
The Wingate at Rome is an exceptional hotel. It's located on the old Air Force base grounds which is now an industrial and business park. The location is very quiet and away from any busy roads and associated traffic noise. It appears to be a fairly new hotel. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The housekeeping services are efficient and consistently good. I never had to ask for anything. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very good for the price. FREE! Hot selections including eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, muffins, etc. The breakfast/common area was always very clean and spotless. The complimentary wireless internet service was fast and uniterrupted. There are many restaurant choices along Black River Blvd., no more than a five minute drive away. (Fast food, national chain and local full service restaurants as well as a Price Chopper grocery store, gas stations and drug stores.) Everything you need conveniently close by, but not so close as to create traffic and noise.

I would absolutly stay here again. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Recently my family and I headed out to Rome NY to watch a XC race. We stayed overnight at the Windgate. The rooms were clean, bright and well stocked. The hotel pool, hot tub and lobby hallways-- CLEAN!!! We needed towels by the pool, asked the front desk - towels delivered within 5 mins. The staff wonderful from the front desk clerk , to the breakfast buffet host. If you are visiting Rome for business or pleasure, stay at the Wingate!! I look forward to staying at other Windgate property!!!

I stayed at this Wingate when I was attending a meeting there, I checked in late and left early. I wasn’t there long but enjoyed my stay. Staff was courteous and outgoing, rooms were good size and very very clean! The only negative was my key wouldn’t work in the back door at 12am, so I had to walk around. Other than that everything was great. I will stay here again in the future and would recommend it for any one visiting the Rome, NY area.

We were in town for a tournament and stayed here with the entire team and their families. Hotel was very clean and the staff was amazing!!!!! You will NOT want to stay anywhere else:)
