“Planters Inn is a great place to stay in the historic area of Savannah.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

We recently had a short visit to Savannah to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our first time in Savannah. The accommodations at Planters Inn certainly met our expectations. The service was outstanding and the location is ideal for walking around the historic area of Savannah.

“Fabulous Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My husband and another couple spent the weekend in Savannah 2/3-5/12 to celebrate a birthday. My husband and I had stayed there about 7 years ago and loved it, but our subsequent visits were at pet friendly hotels. This time it was just we 4 adults and it was like no time at all had passed. The service was exceptional, the wine and food happy hour was great, our room was spacious and just beautiful, and the water from the shower in our big bathroom was awesome. We will continue to stay at the Planters Inn in the future if our furbabies are not with us:) It is centrally located and you can walk all over town with little effort. The Old Pink House next door has a tavern that the ambiance can't be beat. We had cool weather during the nights which we loved since we are from Florida. And let me mention once more, the front desk and the valet parking gentlemen, Sam and Matt, were spectacular in their friendliness and service. We didn't eat breakfast at the Inn since we opted to venture out.

Room Tip: our friends were located across from the parking lot and they said there was a lot of noise on frida...

“Lovely Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We really enjoyed our stay at the Planters Inn in Savannah. It was convenient to the River walk, the Historical sights, and restraunts. The staff was very friendly, our room was very nice, the evening wine and cheese hour was fun-had a piano player and lots of friendly guests. We dined at the Olde Pink House, which was very good. The only draw back was the guests staying in the room next to ours were VERY loud....luckily they were only there one night.

“"Great hotel in a great city"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

First timers for the Planter's Inn - it won't be our last!! Nice sunny room- clean as a pin!!! Hotel had great staff to a person. Good breakfast and enjoyable "wine and cheese hour". Nothing to fault. An older , but nice property!! You could feel the "history".

Room Tip: The higher the floor you are on the better chance you have of a view, regardless of which side of th...

“Beware of twin beds & bad service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

My fiance and I were put in a room with the tiniest twin beds I've seen in my life. When I asked if they had any other rooms available I was told no. I believe this is because I booked the room through priceline, as I was told "Let me check with the manager" when I inquired. I was prepared to try to make the best of the tiny beds and not being able to share the same sleeping space, but I simply can not overlook bad service and that is what I got. Patrick, who checked us in on the first night, was nice and prompt when answering the phone. All of the bellmen were also very attentive and nice. However, the evening desk receptionist on the second night of our stay was anything but. You had to call down to the front desk for ice because there was no machines on the floors. I tried to call down Friday evening and the phone rang and rang and rang. We went downstairs and the receptionist was just sitting behind the desk. We had requested our car be brought around from the valet and the front desk never notified them so we had to wait even longer for our car. When we came back in from being out the same receptionist was on the phone and it was not with a guest, as you could tell from the way she was laughing and carrying on. Additionally, the elevators were very slow and the black out curtains didn't really do a good job of blocking out the light. This is the very first time I've been disappointed with a priceline hotel and I certainly won't be recommending this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: make sure to request a room without twin beds if you're expecting to get a good night's rest...
