After reading previous reviews and price comparing I settled on this property for a weekend getaway to Savannah. Selling points were: the rooms are suites and give you more space that you would get otherwise, and hot breakfast included. At first I was a little iffy on the location as it is on the "edge" of the historic district and I usually like to be right in the heart of everything, but the location is fine and very convenient. It is actually right next to the Savannah visitors center which made for a great way to start our trip and explore from there. The historic district is only 1 square mile so being on the edge was fine, it is only a 15-20 minute walk to the other side. Honestly one of the best parts of Savannah is simply walking around so we tried to take different streets to and from the hotel as we went places to see the different homes and squares. Overall, Residence Inn is a great choice and will save you some money if you are willing to stay on the "edge" of the historic district rather than in it.

Interesting Residence Inn with cottages on one side that help form an attractive courtyard. Studio room was very large and the full kitchen (cooking surface, microwave, fridge) well laid out. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Limited on-street parking on 2 sides of hotel, and they offer valet parking. According to their calendar, they have evening receptions more often than other RIs I have stayed at, and the one I went to had a good choice of drinks, plus soup and salad. Breakfast choices were very good. The best thing about this hotel is it's location. It is an easy walk into the historic district. I have visited Savannah previously and spent about the same on a hotel closer to River St. that was NOWHERE NEAR as nice as this Marriott. I will definitely return to this hotel next time I visit Savannah.

This is an great choice for a short Savannah visit. Rooms are spacious, high ceilings and were clean and well maintained. The highlight of the property though is the courtyard which is a real oasis. In the evening they have a fire which we enjoyed very much even though it was a cool evening. The hotel is within walking distance of some nice restaurants and a free shuttle runs every 20 minutes to take you into the heart of the city and the riverfront. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. One caveat, get down for breakfast early, we arrived late the first morning and it was a disorganized mess.

Was disappointed with the service at this hotel and frankly all Marriott Hotels the past few years. Seems like they continue to reduce services to save money while still charging a premium rate. When our room was cleaned we did not get a full replenishment of towel or toilet paper. When the toilet paper was delivered I did not receive an apology just a “Here”. One of the reasons I choose Marriott was their service. Will be looking to stay at a different hotel chain here on out.
