I recently stayed here for two nights during a business trip and I have nothing but good things to say. I was weary about this place after reading some of the reviews, but I found a LivingSocial deal and decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised.
Granted, this is not a 5 Star Hotel or one of the brand new harbor hotels, but my room and bathroom were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Case in point, during my 1st night my room was very warm (I prefer to sleep in the cold) and after going to the front desk to complain, they informed me that because it was a historic property the Heating/AC was centrally controlled. To accommodate my discomfort, they immediately provided me with a large floor fan and when that wasn't enough they gave me an entirely different room that was much cooler. They even offered to help transfer my luggage at 1am. My new room stayed perfectly cool the rest of my stay and they also let me continue to use my floor fan.
Additionally, when I wanted extra towels there was no delay from housekeeping and they sent more than I would need during my entire stay (which made me very happy!).
I'm not sure if it was because of my LivingSocial deal of if it comes standard with any room rental, but each morning there was a free breakfast included in their cafe. This wasn't just a continental breakfast but a full buffet of scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, pancakes, waffles, bacon, cereals, muffins and danishes, fresh fruits, and a build your own omelette station. It's not Ruth's Chris but it's also a lot better than the Sherton's continental options.
The parking was tight like other ppl have mentioned, but I had no problem finding a spot during the week days I stayed, and that was at any point I came or went btw 2pm and 11pm.
All in all, I had a great 2 days there and I will be returning again. Just remember you're not in a resort, and enjoy your stay with friendly staff.
