“wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

We stayed in the deluxe cabin. It was perfect for our family of 7 after hiking all day. The pool was small but clean. The cabin cooled adequately, and the backyard had a firepit and grill. There was also a large grassed area where we played ball in the evening. The deck was great for drying towels and swimsuits. There is a small convenience/ souviner store on the property and the cabinets were well stocked with pans, dishes, even grill equipment. There is also a nightly dinner available that makes the whole park smell delicious! We didn't get a chance to try but it looked and smelled great. We will stay here again.

“This place is tops”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

We stayed one night at another campground in town and were very disappointed, so we tried this place the second night. The people at Thousand Lakes are very helpful and friendly, rates are good, and--unlike the other campground--they didn't charge extra for showers. The campsite was nice and quiet since it's set back off the road. We don't have children; but they had a beautiful play area for the kids, plus a swimming pool. There were several locations for shower facilities, the showers were very clean, had good hot water, and the rooms were heated. When we asked if they had a pay phone on the premises, they let us use a phone for free to dial an 800 number. We highly recommend this campground.

“Good enough cabin for a night or two.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Our family stayed here one night on a trip along Highway 12. The cabin we stayed in was adequately equipped and clean enough. The living area was roomy enough for our family of four (children aged 3 and 5). Service was very friendly and welcoming. Location is a wee bit out of town but not so far to be inconvenient, and provides a nice view of the red cliffs.

Overall good enough place with no major downfalls, but not particularly excelling either. Worth considering if you are staying in Torrey.

“Great RV park for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

We chose this property, for this particular trip, because we were traveling with friends who have a motor home, tow vehicle and large dog.
My husband and I stayed in one of the camping cabins. It was very clean and comfortable. We would have preferred one with a bathroom, but they were all booked with a family reunion. The middle of the night walk to restroom wasn't far.
The RV sites seemed a bit close to me, but they were clean, shaded and enjoyed the same wonderful red rock cliff views as the rest of the property.
Our friends have a Rottwieller, that is an absolute sweet baby doll, but her breed does fall into the category of some RV parks prohibited dog category so it was nice that Thousand Oaks allowed her.
They have a nice gift shop for traveler souvenirs, an evening group cook-out (that we didn't do, but looked fun) muffins and homemade breads, a swimming pool and large grass lawn with play area for children. The cabins have porches, picnic tables and fire pits. It was all very clean and the staff very friendly.
My husband and I probably wouldn't stay there again when just us as it's a bit busy for our older, retired needs, but I'd highly recommend it for groups and families.
