The location was perfect but the rooms smelled very stale and of urine. The sheets seemed as If they hadn't been washed. Also, there were dead bugs all over the carpet
and on the nightstand. Great cafe though!

We stayed here based on the favorable comments on Trip Advisor and we're glad we did. I have NO idea why anyone would find fault with this place but........

The Wellfleet Motel and Motor Lodge lived up to all the positive things other reviewers mentioned. We were greeted by a friendly congenial young lady who processed our check in quickly. Our large room was clean and all the amenities (wifi, fridge, coffee maker) were conveniently located and worked perfectly. Marconi Beach is just a few miles up Route 6 and there are excellent restaurants within easy driving distance. It's an easy trip to Provencetown if you want to spend a day sightseeing, whale watching, etc.. We had breakfast on two occasions at Harrigan's Cafe; it was delicious and the waitress was friendly and efficient. This is most certainly a place we intend to return to.

When I arrived there I had a good feeling because of the fresh baked cookies I was given when I checked in and the smell permeated the lobby. But that smell went away quickly when the stale smell of my room hit my nose. Nothing in the room was updated except the 42" plasma tv. The room was not clean especially in the bathroom. The tub/shower was dirty and had hair in it. The beds were uncomfortable and the bed linens were underwhelming bordering on hospital-grade. The tub's stopper didn't move so when we attempted to take a shower it filled up very quickly. We paid for two nights but decided to leave after the first one and drive two hours home after the wedding was over.

We have tried various venues in the Wellfleet area and we love this place the best We stayed here in 2003 and should have stuck with it. Clean rooms, reasonable prices and a breakfast deal that is so worthwhile and convenient. Harrigan's cafe is attached to the complex and we woke up every morning to a first class bfast and a reasonable price. (not the paltry bfast that is often part of a b and b package). The motel is located within 30 seconds of the wonderful bike trail and right across from the Audobon Center (a must see attraction full of trails and birds, turtles, etc. The staff is always helpful and courteous and we loved the free Wifi in each room and the big tv's with al the channels. We loved this place and will be back.
