“Hip and friendly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I don't usually write reviews that are too positive but I was so delighted with my stay at the Indigo hotel I thought that this would be a way to repay the great service I received from their staff. The hotel is super clean (rooms and lobby) and the staff is very friendly (checking in and out with a smile). We never visited the bar upstairs but the one in the lobby was friendly and the food was pretty good. The hotel is located close to all the action, so, there is a lot to do (try the Knotty Barrel down the street for a great beer). I wish I had some complaints but between the girls who checked us out to Darren's funny accent (I think Scottish) I had a great stay. The next time I roll into San Diego I will definitely stay at the Indigo.

“Great place to stay in downtown San Diego”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

This is a really nice hotel located a few blocks from the Gaslight District. It is sophisticated and well furnished. The staff are great and there is a good bar terrace on the ninth floor.

I had few complaints. The valet parking is now $38 per night and it is in a rather 'seedy' area - check out the Heritage Hotel next door! Although not a criticism, it is a large hotel and does not have the intimate ambiance of other Indigos I have stayed in.

We spent our evenings eating and drinking in the Gaslight District where there is lots of choice at all prices, although if you want to get into the top restaurants you will need to book on Friday and Saturday nights.

We liked this hotel and will stay again when next in town.

“Great boutique hotel”

Close enough to the gas lamp district, but not right in there. Great atmosphere. Made the mistake to try another hotel this year. Will go back to indigo next time if I can.

Philippe_DC,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay. Our location in the Gaslamp District in downtown is within short walking distance of all the restaurants & shopping it has to offer, but far enough away that we are able to avoid any excess noise. We are glad you were able to try out our hotel this trip & certain hope you visit us in the future as well!

“Above Average, and close to Convention Centre”

Stayed here for two nights, while attending a conference. The taxi trip to the hotel at 9:30 pm cost about $14, although the taxi had trouble deciding how to get there due to the one way streets....so the cost could have been slightly less. On the way back, the door-man suggested I take the limo waiting, rather than the three taxi's around the corner....he said it was the same price. However, at the airport the limo driver said it was $20. So I'm not too happy with that. I did notice an Indigo Hotel newspaper (ie. USA Today with an Indigo Hotel sticker on it) inside the limo, so I assume they work together somehow.

The room is quite nice. It is very spacious considering this is a downtown hotel. The bathroom was large, as was the walk-in shower...no tub, but not a problem for me. The ammenities were nice, and the room was clean. The overall layout was also nice, and different with a curved wall, from other hotel rooms. I didn't realize this was part of the ICH chain (ie. Holiday Inn, Crowne plaza). The bed quality seemed to be OK. For whatever reason, I just didn't sleep very well, with the room being too hot or too cold depending on when the HVAC system kicked in.

The front desk staff was very friendly, and showed a lot of energy. They seem to know other guests by name, so I think they pay attention to those people staying longer. The WiFi worked nicely. The login was easy, and you could connect both laptops and Blackberries at the same time....other hotels may only allow you to log in using one piece of electronics per room.

The distance to the convention centre was about a 10 minute walk. It's also a 10 minute walk to Horton Plaza, and just five three streets away from the gas lamp district. So overall, I would say this is very convenient if you are attending a conference.

DBM24,

Thank you so much for your review! We appreciate your compliments of our room style & large bathrooms. We are especially proud of your comments about our staff though as each individual is chosen for their passion & personality. We apologize for the issue with the town car driver. They are not affiliated with Hotel Indigo in any way but we have since spoken with them to rectify this in the future. Thank you again & we look forward to seeing you back again!

“A great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We loved San Diego and Hotel Indigo. Everyone on staff was really polite and friendly, very helpful. the room had a fantastic view on the 10th floor. They are forward thinking in their welcoming of canine family members and even have a doggie pool and grass lawn on the 9th floor for pets to visit. The hotel was spotlessly clean. I will definitely return to Hotel Indigo.

Room Tip: The upper floors offer fantastic views.
