We travel all over the United States. This place was very dirty and my husband and I both contracted a bad case of scabies here. (With a 7-day infestation period, the doctor pinpointed it to the very middle of our 11 day stay!) If the staff spent as much time attending to housekeeping issues as they do standing outside smoking, this place would be WAY BETTER OFF! I am still waiting on payment for medical bills. Photo online must be OLD! Awnings were falling off. Laundry was extremely dirty with sticky floors. I washed things down with bleach water so I could fold my clothes in there. Sold our RV last year due to gas prices, but seriously considering another one now!

Let me start by saying, "We got more than what we bargained for!" This motel was literally the filthiest place we have ever been to. Upon entering, the hallways were dirty and had a horrible smell of stale cigarettes.
Our room not only had a horrible sewage smell but the carpets were so dirty that we had to wear our flip flops to keep from touching the floors. The beds were so uncomfortable and you can actually feel the springs digging through your skin, no joke!
I refused to bring all of our luggage into the room because I did not want our clothing to smell like the room and because it was not a place I would consider getting comfortable in. The bathroom was full of a sewage smell also. The shower curtain was slimy! OMG, and the bathroom floor, repulsive! Dirty!
I could not wait to check out the next day. We would have checked out sooner; however, we had a 400 mile trip in our vehicle the following morning.
The pictures that are shown on the Motel 8 website are misleading!! We did not feel that the staff were fabulous nor were they incredibly helpful.
The parking lot was compact and does not accommodate all the guests. The place felt very unsafe and we felt the need to check on our vehicle several times throughout the night.
Avoid this motel! It is unsanitary, unsafe and outdated!

My kids and I stayed here and were a little leary about it due to the bad reviews others have written. We were very pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and amenities offered at a very reasonable price. Also hotel is within a few minutes drive to Imperial Beach, which is a clean, non crowded beauty! Also close by is Coronado Island, and San Diego is a short trip away on I-5 which is to the east. The room was clean, air conditioned, and featured a large bath, fridge and micro as well as large TV set. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room as well as the property was safe and secure. To be this close to the beach during the summer and have clean, pleasant accomodations at below $80 a night, we say this place is great.

Don't be fooled by the photos, they must be really old. The hotel and rooms are in need of a face lift. The location is not the best, I didn't feel very safe. The worst part of the hotel is how dirty the rooms are. We only paid 71.00 a night so I didn't expect the hilton, but this place was a dump. The rooms were so dirty I expected to see roaches crawling on the walls. Spend a little more money and stay somewhere else. I wish I had read a bad review so I would have gone elsewhere. The only other review is good (someone from San Diego), must be the owner of the hotel. I wrote a bad review for this place at travelocity.com the never put it on the website. They only had good reviews. I guess there is a little conflict of interest there. I will never trust their reviews again, now that I know they don't post them all. Hopefully this will be posted here to save someone from the mistake we made.
