I stumbled upon Gunnison by accident in my cross-country trip when I discovered that Crested Butte was still under snow and wasn't ready for either mountain biking or hiking. Am I ever glad I did! The Wanderlust Hostel is warm and inviting, within a short walk of Gunnison's amenities, and within riding distance of some fantastic mountain biking trails. Amy's knowledge of the area is outstanding, she set me up with some cool biking routes, and is an awesome host. This is my favourite hostel; if I'm ever in the area, I'd happily stay here again.

Don't expect a typical hostel. This is a great place to rest, relax, have fun, meet people and just get away. I stayed in a bunk and a room and both were great. I highly recommend the private rooms, they are cute and cozy.

This is a great place to stay when you are travelling through the Rockies. The owner is a great woman who knows a lot about the area and she has a very relaxed and welcoming attitude. My husband and I stayed in the largest private room, which was really lovely and had a great bathroom just next door. There is also a lovely sitting room and dining room, a well-equipped kitchen and excellent wireless service. The hostel is a few blocks from the centre of town where there are some great restaurants and breakfast places. Altogether, we had a brilliant stay.
