Great place to stay! The best part is the costume closet!

Don't expect a typical hostel. This is a great place to rest, relax, have fun, meet people and just get away. I stayed in a bunk and a room and both were great. I highly recommend the private rooms, they are cute and cozy.

This is a great place to stay when you are travelling through the Rockies. The owner is a great woman who knows a lot about the area and she has a very relaxed and welcoming attitude. My husband and I stayed in the largest private room, which was really lovely and had a great bathroom just next door. There is also a lovely sitting room and dining room, a well-equipped kitchen and excellent wireless service. The hostel is a few blocks from the centre of town where there are some great restaurants and breakfast places. Altogether, we had a brilliant stay.

The Wanderlust Hostel is a wonderful, wonderful place. Amy has created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you've been there many times and have known her since you were kids. My 18 year old son and I were visiting Gunnison to look at Western State College. My son stayed at the school for a couple of days, so I was on my own. I didn't want to sit alone in a hotel room, so I chose the Wanderlust instead. Best thing I ever did. I felt like I had an immediate circle of interesting and active friends, plus the help of a 'local' who knows all the best places for everything from ski rentals to snow shoe trails to gourmet pizza (The Secret Stash in Crested Butte). Her snuggly cat Porkchop only added to the cozy feel of the house. When my son rejoined me, he was immediately welcomed into the group. This experience has turned me on to hostels. If you like to meet and talk with new people and feel welcome then this is the place for you
