“You got what you paid”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

I agree with previous reviews on hidden and excessive fees. Plus you need to watch your statement for unauthorized fees. For example “late payment fee” is charged by these crooks when you paid on time. It happens with me and number of other people. Place is noisy. You can hear conversation in next room and highway noise all night long. Majority of room are allowed smokers, and smelly. Staff is absent and not helpful.
This is really not a hotel but cheap short term furnished apartment.

my husband, my two young kids and i stayed here while my husband was working a job, the place was nice in the beginning until we found out it was $30 for for junk pots, pans and other kitchen items. it was $20 for a coffee pot, and to top it off they had alot of hidden fees like $10 for internet that hardly ever worked, and then they charged a fee for the towels, sheets, etc. this place is horrible.

Room Tip: if you have a large family, i.e a family of four. the rooms with a bed and a fold out couch is the b...

“BEWARE OF BARGAIN RATE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2010

Yes, the rate posted for this hotel sounds GREAT! UNTIL you check in. I have traveled many years and every extended stay I have frequented has dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc.... Not this place. EVERYTHING is available for a FEE. Want coffee? Buy one of their coffee pots. Dishes, buy one of their dish packs. They have a fee for everything! I was afraid to say hello to the desk clerk in the morning when I left because I thought they would charge 5 dollars for a hello. I was scared everynight when I got in that there would be a pay toilet installed in my room. Also I have never checked into a hotel before where you are handed a price list for what the replacement cost is for everything from towels to window shades, to the smoke detector (seriously!).
And then there is the 100 dollar deposit they tell you about AFTER they run your card. I have been checked out for 72 hours and still have not received mine back. Apparently they confuse deposit with interest free loan. The bed is the most uncomforatable I have ever slept on. It is some contraption that looks like it was bought at an IKEA over stock sale.
Do your self a favor. Pay the extra few dollars a night for a Studio 6 or Extended Stay. You won't regret it in the end.
On the bottom of this survey I checked no frills. And by that I really mena..... NO FRILLS! Well, no free ones anyhow....

“CAUTION: RESERVATIONS AND CONFIRMATIONS MEAN NOTHING TO VALUE PLACE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2009

We were traveling to Beaumont, TX for my son's national baseball tournament. Made reservations at least a month in advance at the Value Place and secured with credit card. Friday night before we were to travel to Beaumont, I received a call from another family who had reservations at the hotel, and they informed me that they had received a call from the hotel stating that they had overbooked and that a room would not be available. Obviously they were furious. I called the hotel and confirmed that there were no rooms available because of A/C and plumbing problems. They told me that they would put me up at another hotel at their cost until a room came available on Monday. I specifically asked if this was going to be the same type of room I reserved because I was traveling with my family. I was assured it would be. Arrived Saturday and they sent us over to the other hotel. On Monday, I called to find out status of our room. I was informed that they would only have a single bed available, but my name was still on the list. When I confronted them about the additional cost of staying in my current hotel, I was informed that they would only cover the first two nights.

I tried to contact the Regional Manager, but I have not received any return call. I really feel cheated by the hotel. Obviously, management has no integrity, either locally or regionally. Did I mention that they did this to 4 families on our team? Only one family got a room.

“Don't trust reservation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2009

1 month before we scheduled and made reservations for our baseball team. I even checked reservation 3 times. Day before arrival received call saying they were over booked and if a room was available I would have one and if not I would have to stay in a partner hote. Other then having a family with a weeks supply for each person, food and baseball equipment to unload and reload to relocate back to hotel when they decide they have a room there wasnt really a problem other then a MAJOR incvonvenience. Received 3 different stories from employees as to why there was this problem. They really didnt care that it was a big pain and really just ruined our relaxation day. It is not worth saving the money to deal with this place. Beds are rock hard and there is a strange odor in the rooms. If can at all afford to stay some place else save the headache and do so..
