“A wonderful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2007

We have stayed at Miss Gail's Inn in Aztec, NM several times since 2001. It's a quaint B&B in a historic building on Main Street. There is a lot of character and charm, and a hearty breakfast is served up with a dollop of interesting local information. Each room has a theme (our favorite is the Louisa May Alcott room); each room is done in antiques, some with exquisite quilts.
Rooms are very reasonable at $75-100 for a queen bed for two; suites are available.
Located on Main Street, it is within walking distance of several restaurants for lunch & evening dining, including Mexican, Thai, Bistro, Chinese, & the mainstream fast foods.
The AZTEC RUINS are there in town, and are absolutely fascinating. They are one of the FEW Ruins in the Southwest where you can actually walk in and among the ruins. Very interesting and sacred!

Last time we were there, we heard the B&B was for sale, so we hope that whoever buys it will maintain its wonderful charm and hospitality! It is a Great place to stay!

“A dreadful night and morning at Miss Gail's Inn B&B”

While overlooking many disappointments and limitations which this tacky B&B had in store for me, there are two that especially ruined the whole experience for me.

First was the noise level from the incessant traffic just outside my room, which eliminated any possibility for restful sleep. Apparently, Miss Gail's Inn is on a truck route and never lets the weary traveler forget it.

Second, and even more important, were the hostility, defensive excuses, and blaming with which the managers reacted to my absolutely legitimate concern regarding my sleepless night. Sadly, they cared not at all about my experience which was so unpleasant that I chose to leave without even trying the breakfast. Instead, they engaged in extremely unprofessional and hurtful personal attacks! In my many years of staying at B&Bs, nothing even remotely like this has ever happened to me. And my night at Miss Gail's Inn is definitely by far the worst night I have ever suffered through at any B&B.

“Not Staying Here Again”

I was full of hope when checking into Miss Gail's. Sadly, we were given the most crowded and unattractive room, the "honeymoon" suite. There was no door to the bathroom. The furniture was crowded, and cobwebs filled the windows. On our second night there, we peeked into some of the unoccupied rooms and they looked roomy, lovely and bright. The worst part: after checking out I noticed red bites all over my ankles that itched! I went to the doctor once I returned home and learned that I had been bit by fleas that must have infested the bed or blankets! I won't be checking in again!

“An Awesome Home Away From Home”

I have stayed there two times, taking with me groups of 10 or more people. The proprieters were kind and courteous. The rooms were warm and comfortable. Staying there made you feel like you had stepped into the old west. Miss Gails Inn is classy and definately a place I would stay at again and again.

“5 Stars!!”

We (me, my two sisters, and my mother and father) were en route to Chaco Canyon, but it got too dark to continue. So, we went into Aztec for the night. We checked in at Miss Gail's, and toured the available rooms. They were all well-furnished and gave a feel of home. It was great! There was no pool, but it was snowing anyway. My sisters and I stayed up until 2:30 AM, watching the snow and the TV (each room was equipped with TV, microwave, etc.), and generally having a great time.
In the morning, we got waffles and hot chocolate! We also got to see the proprieter's quilting machine, and met a full-blooded Native American medicine woman! My whole family immensely enjoyed the stay.
