We've stayed at B&B's around the world but Spring Grove Farm matches up with the best of them. We booked two rooms for a graduation at Longwood University; many others were there for Liberty U's graduation. This B&B boasts the nicest and most helpful hosts (Emily and Joe Sayers) that you could ever imagine...nothing is too much trouble. The B&B is enormous and painstakingly restored...absolutely top-notch accommodations. Large rooms, comfortable beds, steam showers, exquisite linens and towels, etc. My wife and I stayed in the Library Room...a unique (and large) room with a fireplace. My in-laws stayed in the Chrysanthemum Room, which reminded me of a cozy bedroom in my grandmother's house. It's located in an idyllic setting in the countryside...grazing cattle across the way, and beautiful gardens and grounds to the rear. Soooooo quiet...the only noise at night were the peepers. We had seen it (and booked it) in February...believe me, while it was impressive then, it's breathtaking with the gardens in full bloom. The breakfast was as substantial as any we've ever had - waffles, bacon, sausage, yogurt, juices, fruit salad, cereal, and a lot more. This is a hidden gem that should be considered by families of students from Longwood, Liberty, Lynchburg, and Hampden-Sydney...an easy drive on good roads. With the limited selection of quality hotels / motels nearby, Spring Grove Farm provides a great alternative. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Book this outstanding B&B before the word gets out!
