Consider this hotel if you want most excellent customer service, a great hotel restaurant, and modern decor not to mention a goldfish for your room upon request!
We were late to arrive with an early flight out the next day so it was wonderful to have things arranged when we arrived. Ask for an interior room if you wish a quiet location. Free wine from 5-6 p.m. Located in the heart of San Francisco near Union Square within an area filled with upscale shopping options. Easy to access via BART for 8.10 one way from SFO-get out at Powell. One half block walk from station.

Stayed at the Palomar in late November. The staff at this hotel are exceptional. They are very friendly, knowledgeable but most of all helpful. The hotel itself is lovely. The location is great, close to public transport (BART) but also near many shops. Our room was very modern and spacious, with two double beds. Did not hear ANY noise from other guests staying on our floor, in fact it felt like we had the whole floor to ourselves. The rooms were very clean and maid service was very efficient. Loved the the three types of flavoured water available in the lobby and the free morning coffee, tea and hot chocolate available to all guests. The hotel really goes the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and memorable.

I stayed here with my family for 3 nights over the weekend. We paid for an upgrade to the deluxe suite. When we arrived, we were a little disappointed in the room. It was very clean, but felt a bit tired, and for the money we were paying, expected much more. That said, the size was good, and the bed was very comfy. What made our stay really enjoyable was the staff. We told them what we thought and they did everything they could to help out. Offered other rooms, gave us a discount on the bill and free movies for the kids. They could not have done more, so a big thank you to them (Rachel, Josh, and Michelle), will stay with Kimpton Hotels again if all the staff are this good.

I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff at this place, especially the concierge. Each and everyone behind that front desk was full of wonderful suggestions which were given with a smile and a great attitude. I think we lucked out on a room as we were on the top floor interior corner. I originally thought I would've prefferred a room with a city view but Market Street can be pretty noisy in the evenings. We did have some noisy neighbors the first night, but that's not the hotel's fault.

Daily wine reception from 5-6 is a huge plus for me. We didn't get to eat at their restaurant but heard it was great. Rooms are very nicely decorated, simple but elegant/contemporary. Great location as it's within 2 blocks of Union Square. Wish we could've stayed longer!
