“The place to stay in San Francisco”

The Vitale was without doubt one of my best hotel experiences
From the 7 series pick up at the airport though the lovely welcome
A nice bottle of fizz waiting In the beautifully decorated room (and we stayed in
The standard room type ) through the speedy confirmation of our table at Commonwealth
Restaurant on Mission and within 2 hours of arriving we were sitting at our table
Enjoying fantastic food at one of the city's best restaurants
The hotel just got better every day great location By the ferry terminal
3 mins walk to the slanted door restaurant And blue bottle coffee
15 mins walk to Barneys 15 seconds across the road to the famous boulevard restaurant
And the Americano restaurant in the hotel has great food and the bar is buzzing
I would be amazed if any reasonable person did not love this place

Room Tip: Standard room type is spacious and absolutely superb

“This hotel is SPECTACULAR!”

I've been traveling a lot for work and started staying at the Vitale a few trips ago.. and this hotel gets better and better with each visit. The staff is friendly, helpful and makes me feel like a VIP everytime I am there. I signed up for their loyalty program and was put in a gorgeous room with amazing views of the bay and the Ferry building and roof deck access. Rooms are clean, spacious and the bathrooms are excellent and fully stocked with Fresh products.

Also -- and really important to note-- the staff went above and beyond for me! In my haste to check out and catch a flight, I left a ring (family heirloom) on the bedside table and checked out. When I realized it was there, I called the front desk and they immediately went up to the room and found it! When they returned my call, they offered to hold it or ship it back to me immediately..... when I got back to the office that Monday it was on my desk. Talk about AMAZING customer service.

I will continue to stay at Hotel Vitale for ALL of my trips to SF!

Room Tip: Get a room that overlooks the bay...... its magical.

The Good:
Knowledgeable and helpful front desk staff. Rooms were tastefully done, not huge but really nice. The hotel is quiet, the bar was excellent and food good. The position is very good.

The not so good:
We had a deluxe, ocean-view room, but there was no bath. Not a big deal but for the money would've expected a bath as well as a shower.
For a room advertising an ocean view, it was not that great. The room was on a busy road and was a bit noisy at night.

Still, this was a classy hotel with first class service, and I would stay again.

Room Tip: The Ocean View rooms below 4th floor don't have a great view, are a bit noisy and don't have...

Some of our Deluxe Ocean View Rooms showcase both the city and water views, so I apologize if you were expecting a room with solely ocean views. “Spectacular service and attention to detail”

My wife and I stayed here for one night before driving down to Pebble Beach to celebrate our anniversary. We called our reservation agent Emily Nobela. Emily was totally professional from the the word GO. Kind, courteous and a delight to deal with over the phone, Emily upgraded us to a bay view room and provided us with complimentary champagne upon check in. The hotel was so clean and very modern. The bed provided a wonderful night's rest and I am frequently dissatisfied with most mattresses. We only had breakfast at the hotel which we thought was excellent. The entire staff was happy to accomodate us and receive an A+ on positive attitude along with a ready smile. You think Customer service has become a lost art? I'd like to disillusion you! Not at Hotel Vitale and certainly not with Emily Nobela. Thanks Hotel Vitale! You made our stay exceptional!

Room Tip: Call Emily and tell her your needs. She will do her best to make your stay one to remember.

I returned to Hotel Vitale this year for the Yoga Journal Conference, January 12th-16th. Although I had the least expensive king room, I was on the seventh floor with a lovely outlook towards the Embarcadero. Some of the interior courtyard rooms on the lower levels do not have such a nice view - be forewarned, you might choose to upgrade if you book an inexpensive room and do not like the view. That said, the service in this hotel is always discrete and exemplary. They make it look easy. From front desk to housekeeping, I felt pampered in an unobtrusive way that is fast becoming nonexistent in most hotels. I do not like the pretentious atmosphere of some upscale SF hotels. Vitale is sophisticated without being stuffy. The location is cleaner and safer than hotels around Union Square or Nob Hill and if you are a coffee drinker, make the pilgrimage to Blue Bottle in the Embarcadero - you won't be disappointed!!
