We just got back from a week in Maui and really enjoyed staying in a first-floor condo in Hale Ono Loa! The views of the ocean are great, and the pool area is maintained very nicely! There's plenty of parking, and it's the perfect distance (about 10 minutes) away from the bustle of Lahaina. It's close to some great snorkel sites and beaches. We really enjoyed boogie boarding at D.T. Fleming beach (5 minutes north) and walking the boardwalk at the Kaanapali beach (5 minutes south). We were also able to get anywhere we wanted on the island. The first day we explored Lahaina (10 minutes away); second day we explored the south central coast (Wailea-Makena, about an hour south); third day we explored the northwestern coast (Napali Beach, Nakalele Blowhole, 30 hour north); forth day we took a snorkel excursion out of Maalaea (30 min south); fifth and sixth days we traveled the Road to Hana; and seventh day we went back to some of our favorite spots. This condo made the perfect "home" to come back to each night!

My husband and I were lucky enough to snag 207 for our belated honeymoon/ vacation October 3- 12, 2011. The location of the condo is far from the airport, but only about 10 minutes to Lahaina. One needn't even go that far for grocery items as there are a bunch of stores and restaurants within walking distance.

The condo itself is very well-appointed, clean, well-stocked with essential items. Perfect view of the water and the pool. Sea turtles were swimming right along the front wall of the property! Most days, the ocean was too rough to enter from the stairs on site, but on occasion you could be in the ocean within 20 seconds of your door. Sandy beaches are plentiful and nearby.

The pool was wonderful, and most days we were the only people there.

Vanessa was great to deal with, and was usually prompt with answers to our questions. We would return in a heartbeat!

Don't need to tell you about the great beaches on Maui, and this place is a quick drive to many. BUT do not book directly with the owner as there is no one to fix problems. The fridge would not work for our entire week. The local maid service cannot help, the manager cannot help and the off-island owner does not return calls or e-mails. What was a great week was soured by having to keep a cooler stocked with ice and wasting time trying to contact the owner. Also toaster did not work, no beach towels etc. Look for a place with a local manager and enjoy Maui..

My husband and I LOVED staying at the Hale Ono Loa #207. The condo was beautifully decorated, fully stocked and had an amazing view! The owners of this unit were very professional and easy to work with. I can not wait to rent this unit or another one of their properties again! This condo is in a great location, close to beaches, restaurants and Lahaina. We saw turtles from our lanai and enjoyed grilling by the pool and watching the sunset! I already miss Maui, and would definitely rent this unit again!!!! Highly recommended!!
