“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We recently stayed at the Sheraton Maui for 8 nights. We stayed in Building 2, with an ocean-view room on the 5th floor. We were offered an upgrade at check-in, first for a ridiculous $100+/night (we were already paying almost $250/night!). When we declined, the price came down to $35/night for the ocean-view in Bldg 2. We were glad we did it - the view was amazing, and the room was larger than the standard 'garden view'. No complaints about the room or the service - everything top notch.

Food at the resort is overpriced. The breakfast buffet was delicious but at $30pp, there are many cheaper options around.

Location is fantastic! Kaanapali beach is one of the best on the island, and the snorkelling around Black Rock is great. Pools & beach were not too crowded. Being near Whalers Village is also great - lots of food & shopping options.

Hotel charges a $25/night resort free (seems that most hotels around do this) - it was annoying to have to pay extra but does include parking, internet, pool chairs, etc.

“Disappointed”

This hotel was beautiful. Right off the beach, nice pool area and gorgeous grounds. I really wish the staff had been up to the same standards. Of the six days that we were there, our trash was never taken out, our sheets were not changed and our room was not vacuumed. The cleaning staff basically came in and pulled the sheets up. Every place to eat in the hotel had extremelly slow service. Even the staff at the front desk was unhelpful. They couldnt tell us where to find anything on the island. Overall, it was beautiful, but there were three resorts within walking distance which I would highly reccommend over the Sheraton.

“Much better than expected”

Having stayed at the other end of the Island at $ Seasons etc I did not know what to expect at a Sheraton. I was pleasantly surprised. Great location and near the main town of Lahaina which is a must visit for shopping, food and hanging out with the locals. Hotel rooms are spacious and have everything you need, good balconies with most having a view of the ocean. Great bars, restaurants and sunset drinks a must do, beach is loveley - no surf however. Well worth a visit - it wont dissapoint

Room Tip: Get a room with balcony view of the ocean

“Excellence”

This is the second time we've stayed at the Sheraton Maui and we can't wait to stay again. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The staff is very polite and quick to help you with anything. Our favorite part about this hotel is the beach and the pool area. Snorkeling is wonderful here too. We tried the teppanyaki restaurant and the main dining room and the food was great in both. Another plus with the hotel is it's close to Lahaina which has a lot to do and the Whaler's Village is full of great shopping. Just can't say enough good things about this resort.

“Great rooms, pool, decent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I was on a trip with my partner and we found the hotel quite nice.

Rooms were amazing. We were given a suite that was approximately 900 square feet. Everything was up to date and quite comfortable. The deck overlooked the channel between Maui and Lanai and was a great space in which to spend a quiet evening away from the pool.

The grounds of the hotel were gorgeous. Free breakfast came with our stay, which was very nice. The pool was great, although very crowded. We loved the beach but the same could be said for that. The best part about the resort was the reef off the hotel. Although not colorful, the life in the water was abundant! While snorkeling, we saw turtles, whales, dolphins, squid, jellyfish (ugh), eels, fish and many other creatures.

Food was very, very expensive and not particularly appetizing.

Location was fantastic.

Not quite 5 star, but very, very nice.
