“Love it here!”

We have stayed at the Hale Kamaole three times and love it there. Its excellent location offers easy access to the beach, stores and restaurants. It is also only a short drive to the beaches and golf in Wailea. Easy access to the Piilani Highway allows quick access to other parts of the island.

We love the comfortable atmosphere at this resort - geared to families. Go at Xmas and you will find large family groups occupying 2 or 3 units. We traveled at the beginning of December and the resort was very peaceful - as the holidays drew nearer occupancy picked up and more kids appeared. Some of the residents own their units and are there for extended periods of time.

There are two building groupings at this resort (the upper and lower). Each area has its own pool and set of bbqs (4 at each). I love that they have kept charcoal bbqs here - it creates an opportunity for a social hour every evening as everyone takes their drink down to the bbq, exchanging stories of their day's adventures while waiting for their coals to light. After all, isn't that why you're there...to relax and do something that you don't normally do at home?

Be aware that this resort was built in the 70s and while some of the units have been updated, some haven't. This shouldn't detract from your vacation, however. Just don't go expecting to stay in a 5 star resort.

The kitchens are generally very well appointed and most units have a storage room where there may be all kinds of treasures waiting. Previous occupants may have left beach chairs, boogie boards or snorkeling equipment behind for your use.

The grounds are extremely well kept - there is always someone trimming the luxuriant foliage or cleaning the pool and bbqs. The workers are unobtrusive as much of the work is done before you are even out of bed.

My favorite part of the day is watching and listening to the conch band salute the sun at sunset. If you have a conch shell in your unit, feel free to participate!

I will never stay anywhere else in Maui!

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side are sunnier, on the south, cooler - so it depends on what you want. Rooms in...

“This was my 3rd visit to Hale Kamaole and I would Definately Return”

This was my 3rd stay at Hale Kamaole and my family always has a great time. It is a great. low-key family atmosphere with lots of room to run around. The grounds are beautifully maintained, sweeping lawns, two large pools and communal bbq pits for cooking and meeting your neighbors. You have views of the ocean on one side and the volcano on the other. The Beach is right across the street and down towm Kehei is just a short walk. I would highly recommend this Condo association to anyone looking to stay on the island

Room Tip: The condos are different sizes. One bedroom condos are on the main floor. The larger condos are on t...

“Hale Kamaole #207”

We stayed for a week in early October. Loved the place! Was right across the street from Kamaole Beach #3. You cross the street, walk across the large lawn, and there you are. Was able to snorkel right there. Great views of the sunset, too! The apartment was nice. Was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Washer and dryer in the unit was nice. Also an ac unit in both the bedroom and the living room. They had in the patio closet tons of ocean related gear to use. Snorkel gear, ice chest, boogieboards, lawn chairs. Was close to food and stores, too. We would definitely stay here again.

“Feels Like Home”

This year will be our 15th consecutive Christmas at Hale Kamaole. We have travelled extensively to various destinations and always compare our trips to Maui and Hale Kamaole - nothing compares! It truly feels like our home away from home. The location in our opinion is the best in Kihei. Directly across the street from Kamaole 3 - a great park/beach. The area has numerous choices in restaurants as well as great shopping choices - The Shops at Wailea are a 5 minute drive. The Kihei boat ramp is a 5 minute walk for touring adventures. Another 5 minutes is Keawakapu beach, our favorite! The units are spacious and well maintained. The grounds are huge and the gardening crew is amazing. 2 pools, tennis court and "old school" charcoal BBQ areas. The office staff and resident managers do a tremendous job looking after the complex. Many guest have like us, (families, couples, seniors) have been coming for years. It is truly a gem in South Kihei. For a great meal try the nearby Bistro 808, great food, BYOB with no corkage fee for wine, and a short walk home!
