“Great Spot!”

Amazing spot and great hosts, Tom and Denise have a super setup for this B&B. Right on the border between Kihei and Wailea. Well situated for all sorts of Maui adventures. Super great that they have Towels, Chairs, Bogey Boards, snorkel Gear, and even a cooler for your trips to the beach! This in itself saves you so much money, on top of the fact that this is a very reasonably priced accommodation to begin with. Great Spot!

“Great value for money”

We decided to stay at this B&B because of the very convenient position in Kihei/Wailea. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and the property is green and pleasant, with a nice deck facing sunset.

We stayed in the Rainforest Suite, which features a private patio, a kitchenette, tv, AC and private bathroom (no window). We were a little worried because in other reviews we had read that the Rainforest Suite does not get much privacy, but we had no privacy problem whatsoever, because two sides of the patio are protected by wooden walls, while the third has a roll-up curtain. We enjoyed our patio for breakfast, for reading, and for hanging out our beach stuff. The only drawback of the room is that it gets direct sun in the afternoon (at least in August) so it can become a little hot especially around 3:00, but this was not a real issue, as we normally were away at that time and there was AC anyway, and also direct sun was good for drying beach stuff. Maybe the bed could have been more comfortable (again not a real issue).

We liked the breakfast, especially the fact that you can order what you want from a list the night before, therefore nothing gets wasted. We also enjoyed meeting Tom and Denise, they are very pleasant hosts, we hope we will be able to meet them again.

“Great B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

We stayed in the Ocean Suite, which is the larger of the two rooms in the main house. The room is quite spacious, airy, clean and comfortable, and the private patio is lovely. We enjoyed our "happy hours" on the common deck, with a panoramic view of the sun setting into the sea, and our breakfasts on our secluded patio, surrounded by flowering ginger. The landscaping around the house is very lovely. Tom & Denise were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts adequate, if uninspired. The house is located in a comfortable neighborhood and is easy to find and central to most of the things we wanted to do.

The main downside for us was the inadequate cooking facility. The "kitchenette" is a counter in a closet with a toaster oven, coffee maker and tiny refrigerator that balks at making ice. The kitchenware consists of 2 plates, 2 place settings of silverware, and a couple of glasses and mugs. The outdoor kitchen, which our hosts kindly made available to us, has a good sink, a microwave, barbeque and a very few extra items of kitchenware. It was a challenge to get any food prepared at all. Fortunately, everything tastes better in Hawai'i.

Next downside for us was that you have to drive everywhere. The neighborhood is nice, but it is far from quiet, and our contemplation of the sunset was generally punctuated by lawnmowers and barking dogs. You have to get in the car to go for a drink, a walk on the beach or a bag of ice.

The only other problem was that the reading light was terrible. I tried everything to get enough light for my middle aged eyes, and finally ended up using a booklight.

Since these three issues are very important to us, we would probably not stay at Dreams Come True on Maui again, although we very, very highly recommend the B&B for every other aspect.

Room Tip: The Ocean Suite is the best! You have complete privacy and a really beautiful patio area for your e...

“Great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

This B&B was an excellent value! We stayed in the Rainforest suite, and it was quite comfortable and reasonably spacious. I might recommend getting the Ocean suite in the back, if you can, as you'll have a bit more privacy, but unless someone's deliberately looking in, they can't see much. It has its own private patio with racks where you can let stuff dry out overnight.

Given that I'm typically a late riser, having the breakfast waiting outside our door and being able to eat it at our leisure was really ideal. And when I had early morning dives or other activities, I could even store the breakfast in the fridge for later!

Tom was particularly helpful with advice and recommendations. Hey loaned us an old copy of the Maui "blue book", which was an great travel companion. Everything in Kihei/Wailea is close by. And Denise's breakfast breads are delicious! :-)

Room Tip: Ocean Suite is preferable, but Rainforest Suite is comfortable, though with a bit less privacy.

“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011 via mobile

In terms of B&B this place pretty much has everything going for it. The location is quiet and away from the touristy area and the view from the deck over the ocean is great. We slept with our room door open to the breeze and felt completely safe.
Denise was very helpful and accommodated any request. The breakfast provided is good and you pretty much have a full kitchen to use at your disposal between your room facilities and the BBQ out the back. Free laundry was also provided.
The only thing that surprised me a bit was for the few days we stayed there our room was never serviced not even as much as bins emptied. What would be the case if we stayed for a week or more??
If you come here do yourself a favour and hire a car. You will need it to get down to the local shops and get around and it is the best way to explore the island
